Baby items, especially the designer ones like Oeuf baby furniture, Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bags, Serena and Lily baby bedding and Mountain Buggy strollers may seem a little expensive, but when you look at what you get you may be surprised. Let's take the previously mentioned Oeuf.

Oeuf has dressers, cribs, toddler beds, shelving, wardrobes and more. As opposed to getting a crib from a baby store and having it for 2 years or so and than putting it away or trying to sell it the Oeuf furniture can easily be converted into a toddler bed and used for seven years or so. Let's take a look as some of the other brands I mentioned above like the Mountain Buggy strollers. These are definitely more expensive than you basic stroller you may see at the mall. Those strollers however are thin framed, tough to push, uncomfortable for the passenger and usually only function on pretty flat surfaces. The mountain buggy stroller is good for years and has wheels that are like a bicycle so sidewalks, bumps, up and down are all good. Often these are double strollers as well so the will fit a baby and a toddler in the same unit which makes it easy for mom and dad to push the family around. Added features like wind shields, rain covers and car seat adapters add to the benefits of owning a first class stroller as opposed to when that may break down, have limited additional features and can only handle children under 25 lbs.

When shopping for a baby gift for yourself or a friend, co worker, client or family member there are different levels of price points with gifts to buy. Often the recipient would prefer something a little nicer so it would be good to group together with some other people and get one really good things than a couple of average pieces that will need to be replaced and don't have the pizzazz of some of the better items out there.

I'm not saying you should spend more than you can afford, but often with the better goods there is a reason that they are more expensive. It's not always just because of the brand name. I've seen strollers that celebrities pay for costing four and five thousand dollars. That I would agree is ridiculous. Where the threshold lies is different for everyone I guess, but common sense has to be taken. I suggest do some due diligence online and at your local stores and see what features the diaper bags have and that the strollers and furniture displays and than you can more easily decide what's worth it.
