Smoking can be a difficult habit to break especially if you have been a smoker a long time and feel that you really rely on that nicotine rush. Kicking the habit doesn't have to be an unpleasant experience though as electronic cigarettes have been developed and are being hailed as the safer smoking alternative.
This is because the electronic cigarette doesn't involve the use of any tobacco or actually tobacco smoke which has been linked to most smoking related illnesses. The electronic cigarette is designed to look and feel like smoking a real cigarette and provides the user with the much needed nicotine dose they crave.
Tobacco cigarettes also pose the threat of passive smoking which can be dangerous and harmful to others who don't have a choice whether they are subjected to your exhaled smoke or not. The electronic cigarette does not run the risk of passive smoking because the user only exhales a colourless vapour which comprises mainly of excess nicotine vapour and water vapour.
Electronic cigarettes work by using advanced microelectronic technology and are made up of few components. They are a battery powered device which is rechargeable and has either refillable or re-usable parts so it will last.
The main components of the electronic cigarette are; the atomisation chamber, the replaceable nicotine cartridge and the rechargeable battery. There are some devices that have been designed to be used once only and so can be thrown away after use. This allows you to purchase a device depending on your preferences.
The device works when a user inhales and this causes the liquid nicotine held inside the nicotine chamber, to be drawn into the atomisation chamber. The liquid is then heated by the power from the battery and results in the user inhaling nicotine vapour and satisfying their craving.
The electronic cigarette however is not completely legal in all countries. The purchase of electronic cigarettes is currently unrestricted in the United Kingdom and United States, however they are strictly prohibited in Brazil, Canada, Panama and Singapore. In New Zealand, the E Cigarette can only be sold as a registered medicine and the E Cigarette without nicotine is permitted in Australia and Denmark.
