If you are one of the 20 million Americans that are receiving an analog signal to your television through an antenna, you may risk losing your signal next year if you do not take the appropriate action to convert your television to digital.  Most likely you are receiving your analog signal from an antenna like bunny ears which gives you the local broadcasting in your area.  On Feb. 19th, 2009 all of those local broadcasts will begin to signal only in digital.

There are a couple of easy steps that you need to take in order to convert your analog TV to digital or a DTV.  The first thing you need to do is purchase a digital tv converter box that will typically sit on top of your television to receive the digital transmissions.  In turn the transmissions from the digital box will then output to your current television and you will receive the same channel just in digital format.

Once you purchase the digital converter, you will need to hook up this box to your tv.  Basically if you can hook up a VCR or DVD player to your television, then you will be able to make this conversion yourself.  The process is as simple as removing the coaxil cable from the back of your TV and screw it in the input label of your digital converter.  Then take another coaxil cable from the box the digital converter came in and screw that into the output label on your box and the other end goes into the cable line for your televison.
