The hunt is on! But what's the hunt about? Observing generally, there's always a hunt to know more, to discover more, to invent more. Yes, the world is always on the hunt for newer and better means of life. There is hardly any field where innovation is not required. The effort is always to come up with the promise of bettering the existing technologies and ways of s of life. Regardless of the progresses made in other walks of life, the technological field is taking giant leaps towards growing better and better. As we all know, science has its boons and banes. As such, every research and experiment is carried forward keeping in mind the effects that would befall on our surroundings or environment. Technology backed with awareness has thus emerged as the ideal way to move forward.

Among all other things, the Internet can be grouped as one of the most unique technological innovations ever made by man. The Internet is a world in itself and needs constant upgradations to make it grow better and more user-friendly. Keeping the user perspective in mind, innumerable technologies are introduced time to time. Since search engines are used by visitors on a large scale, more attention is paid to make them suit the requirements of users and produce effective search results. But of late, a completely unique concept was introduced that took the world by surprise and created a stir in the Internet circle. This was the theory of the anti-glare search engine, promising to save 750 mega watt hours of energy a year and consequently be softer on human vision as well.

Thus has emerged the concept of Black Google, pioneered by Blackle, using black background as its color theme. Since then, the whole web fraternity has been on the toes to find out if there is any truth regarding the claim of the energy saving feature of Black Google. Trusting what has been said by its pioneer, Mark Onktush, CRT monitor users can save approximately 3000 mega watt hours a year by switching on to a black screen. This is indeed great news but there remains another loophole. The fact is only 25% of the world uses CRT monitors and the energy saving theory backfires when using LCD monitors. If these observations be true, then the anti glare theory needs to be modified and worked upon.

However, it would not altogether be correct to discredit the innovative finding of the anti- glare theory. No technology has ever developed without some loopholes in the initial stages. All that is required is to build upon this concept and try to search newer avenues to carry this energy saving concept forward.
