Rosacea Treatment Methods

Rosacea is a common skin disorder faced by many people in the world. You know you are affected by rosacea when noticable red and pink patches, obvious broken small blood vessels and small red bumps start appearing. Scientific research has yet to identify the exact causes of rosacea. Some people suspect that causes are genetic inheritance, exposure to sun, bacteria and medications that lead to blood vessels widening. 1) Topical creams
Applying topical creams once or twice a day can be helpful to keep rosacea under control. All do you need to do is apply Metronidazole, one of the well-known topical creams, after cleaning the face once or twice a day. By doing this routinely, a significant improvement in rosacea can soon be noticed. Azelaic acid is another recommended topical cream. Both of the topical creams work well in treating red bumps. Some people find it effective to use one in the morning and another one at night. Nevertheless, you are reminded that the combination of these two creams might not work with your skin.
2) Antibiotics
Oral antibiotics that are often prescribed to treat rosacea are tetracycline and amoxicillin. These antibiotics are well-known to be able to reduce inflammation and blemish in rosacea effectively. Usually at the beginning of treatment, antibiotics dose prescribed may be high. However yet, it will be maintained at a certain level after a while. Nevertheless, bear in mind that there are always unpreventable side effects and potential risks from using antibiotics.
3) Laser and pulsed therapy
Laser and pulsed therapy is a safe treatment suitable for treating continual redness and visible blood vessels. Put aside the uncomfortable feeling it may bring, it is still a good remedy that regain your good skin condition effectively.
