"The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one." - Elbert Hubbard

Our lives are never going to get better than they are right now. It might for a moment seem better (i.e. a raise in pay, a great night of passion, winning a game, a public acknowledgment, a child succeeding at something, donating to a cause that we believe in). Any of these will make us smile or swell with pride in the moment.

That same moment can easily be replaced by a sensation of failure by getting fired, divorcing or fighting with a loved one, public ridicule, our kids hurting themselves or making bad decisions, sleeping in on Sunday instead of attending worship, eating that piece of chocolate cake. Any of these can pull us immediately below the line of feeling temporarily "OK".

The baseline or consistent level that we experience life doesn't change that much for most people from the time they turn 16 to the time they pass away. Someone who is constantly complaining and frustrated, pretty much stays that way forever. On the other hand, there is always that person who never gets sad and is always eager to help. This person also remains this way their whole life.

"You may feel like dwelling on your limits or your fears. Don't do it. A perfect prescription for a squandered, unfulfilled life is to accommodate self-defeating feelings while undercutting your finest, most productive ones."-Marsha Sinetar

So Jason, are we destined or doomed to repeat today thethe experience of yesterday, of today?

Are we living in a cosmic Ground hog Day? Wayne, NYT shows the specific holiday capitalized, but I am assuming this generic reference would not be?

The answer is yes. Yes, most people live a broken record repeating over and over again the pain of yesterday, utilizing all our energy and magic to recreate a reality that may allow us to survive, but will never satisfy the deep unquenchable cry of our soul to do and become more!

We all know the excuses: "But I'm OK." "We should be happy with what we have." "It's just the way I am." "I have to make ends meet." And my all time favorite: "I'll do it later."

These phrases are the tomb inscriptions for the people who wasted their precious time on this earth while languishing and wallowing in an existence of fear and excuses. Give me one person - man or woman - of any race, nationality or age that understands this one fact or statement: "We are all artists. The lives we have painted can always be better. And if we don't like it then the only thing that will ever change the pattern is DOING something different, CHOOSING a new approach and, most importantly, ACTING according to our new choice of who we can and who we want to become", and I will show you someone who will affect the history of his or her world.

How often should we change the approach? Until we achieve the desired outcome.

"When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid."-Audre Lorde

Most of us get frustrated with how much we have to change. In reality, all we need to do is let go of who we are trying to please - parents, spouses, families, society, and our own expectations. Instead, allow who we really are to shine through. Then, and only then, will we truly be free. Imagine for a moment that you embrace this freedom without the fear of the masses; that you step outside of the realm of everyone else's expectations for your life. Then truly live a life of passion and purpose that exposes and fulfills your very being. Feel that truth, hear what you would hear then and witness the life that you have touched only in your dreams. Follow your calling without the fear of what may happen. Understand deep down that if you are truly serving your heart and soul's desire, that there will never be a want for food, clothing or shelter. Your dedication to a life without fear will forever be your protection.

Who you are is light, love and happiness. All else is lies. Live truth! Live it completely and forever.
