Your face is important. It is the most immediate outlet for your emotions, expressing thoughts and reactions that are beyond words. It is usually the first thing others notice about you, profoundly influencing both how they perceive you and how you perceive yourself. Many people are generally pleased with their faces, but for those who are not, their faces can be the source of frustration and self-consciousness.
For many people, the area around the eyes is among the first to show signs of aging, often making them look older or more tired than they truly are. With these people in mind, we are pleased to offer advanced eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty.
Hundreds of thousands of women and men elect cosmetic eyelid surgery every year in order to enhance their appearance. Often, a brow lift or forehead lift is added to enhance the effects of cosmetic eyelid surgery. Droopy eyelids, under eye bags, and wrinkles under the eyes can all be reduced with cosmetic eyelid surgery. The ideal patient understands the benefits and limitations of blepharoplasty and has realistic expectations of what can be achieved. Good candidates desire to enhance the appearance of their eyes; generally regarded as the most important facial feature.
Many find it quite exciting that their appearance can be rejuvinated by cosmetic eyelid surgery. Common questions for prospective cosmetic eyelid surgery patients concern the preparation for cosmetic eyelid surgery, cosmetic eyelid surgery techniques, and what can be expected in the healing period after cosmetic eyelid surgery.
Excess skin of the upper lids is often accompanied by lateral overlap of skin with crow's feet because of the absence of fixation to the tarsal plate, giving the eye a sad, heavy look that often disturbs the lateral visual field. The accepted crescent-shaped blepharoplasty is somewhat convex, which is widest at the confer of the lid with or without a lateral extension. However, in patients who have normal brow position or minimal eyebrow ptosis and whose main concern is the excess upper eyelid skin and lateral hooding, such a crescent excision may not suffice. A scalpel-shaped excision that is widest laterally and that tapers to a point medially will extirpate the maximal skin where it is most needed and overcome the skin excess in the lateral aspect of the upper lid.
The operation is begun on the upper eyelids by making incisions in the natural crease of the lid and removing the excess tissue above this incision. The location of the incisions, continued and excellent healing ability of the eyelid skin, almost always results in scars that are difficult to see with the passage of time. Through these incisions excess skin, fat or both are removed depending on the individual problem. Following completion of the surgery, the incision is closed with very fine suture.
The nose is the most prominent feature of the human face. For those who are dissatisfied with the shape or size of their noses, we offer the option of nose reshaping - or rhinoplasty.
