What followed was a very lively and animated discussion about exactly what one had to do to overcome everything. Needless to say, I was in the hot seat for a while, but then it turned out alright. Not everyone agreed, but most people did.

Truth be told, that mantra is not original. I got it
from an Internet Marketer named Tellman. I really liked it however, and I think you will too, once you really begin to think about it.

It seems everywhere you turn there are obstacles. Take Internet Marketing for example. You have tried all kinds of systems and programs, lost money, got frustrated, entertained thoughts of giving up, etc. If you give in to any of these, you will never really achieve anything, will you?

You really have to develop a spirit of perserverance in any field you you choose to participate in. In fact, I know that the only thing you do not have to struggle to succeed in is non-achievement.

It really is very easy to watch tv all day, sleep, eat junk food, and get fat, as long as there is no pressure to do otherwise.

Life is a series of obstacles though. In fact life is a huge obstacle course. Your reward for success in any worthwile endeavor is simply to overcome them and get what you set out to get in the first place.

Can you overcome everything? Yes you can. Overcome everything and everyone. Funny enough though, the very first obstacle which you must overcome is you. Overcome your bad habits, your negativity, and your lack of purpose. Your passion for life will begin to come back to you.

Here are a few practical steps you can take right now to help you overcome anything that has been holding you back and stopping you from achieving your best.

1. Find a purpose that is bigger than you. Whether its to feed the hungry, build a shelter for abandoned children, send money to missionaries, or to fund a special scholarship in memory of your parents, you need to find a purpose for your goal. It must be something bigger and better than just to buy another car or house. It must tingle your mind, get your blood rushing again, and it must elicit passion.

2. Find a secondary reason that's closer to home and plant it in your head. This could be a dream to become debt free, or a dream to quit your day job. Whatever it is, make it colourful, realistich, and very attractive. It makes no sense to strive, push, and pull to do something that is not attractive to you.

Network marketers call it the "WHY". Why are you doing this? It must be good, solid, and worth the sacrifices you'll have to make. Make no mistake about it. In order to overcome everything, you'll have to abandon your comfort zone.

3. Finally, never accept anything as impossible to overcome. That is just not true. You can overcome, avoid, go around, go over, push over, obliterate, trample everything that stops you. It's the birthright of the human spirit. Man still has a mandate to overcome and dominate the entire earth, if you believe the bible's account on the matter. This is found in Genesis 2. There's always a way to find passion for what you are doing.

Don't forget the possibility that you could very well be doing something you were never meant to day. Whoa! Let's go over that again. You could be doing something for which you have no passion, no love, no desire to excel.

Examine what you do for a living. Maybe this could be the beginning of a new life, your new life. You need to do this. It is very important to do this because that will give you the impetus you live your life with passion again.

Overcome your emotions, your phobias, your blinkers that stop you from seeing the big picture. Overcome the desire to stay down when you fall. Overcome the desire to give up when you fail. Overcome everything. The greatest victory that you will every savour is not victory over your competitors, or even your enemies, but victory over yourself.

There is a saying that practice makes perfect. How perfect do you want to be, at overcoming obstacles and renewing your passion? Could you use some more practice? Then grab your obstacles by the horns. Study each one, look at it from another angle. Don't worry about it, but don't forget about it either.

Quite often, there is an expert somewhere that has overcome that very same problem. This may be someone who would be happy to share his or her expertise with you. Sometimes, all you have to do is ask for help and you will get it.

Once you have worked out a formula for solving problems and overcoming obstacles, practice it. Yes, practice again and again. You'll find yourself growing in ways you never thought possible. Who knew you had it in you to reach such lofty heights of human achievement?
