You may find yourself on holiday and staying in one of the very nice apartments Port Macquarie does so well, or perhaps you booked accommodations in advance and have a room in a hotel Port Macquarie style, which translates to mean elegant and efficient. But, no matter where you end up staying while you are visiting Port Macquarie, there are some tourist attractions in this area that you most definitely don't want to miss. One of these is the Timbertown Winery-Erwin Cellars.

Whether you are a wine connoisseur or a teetotaller, you will thoroughly enjoy a day trip to Timbertown! Its location makes not only the winery, but also everything around it a pleasure to visit. The winery gets its name from this location, which is of course, called Timbertown - Timbertown Heritage Theme Park Village. It is a village that has been recreated to show people the things that the pioneers of Australia had to go through when they first arrived in this country, and how they worked together to help make this country what it is today. Two million people have visited here since the village opened in 1976.

The Timbertown Winery has a lovely spot right in the middle of the village. Just look for the large building - it will be quite hard to miss, as all of the people who are exiting will look very happy, and no wonder. They have been inside the winery partaking in a wine tasting! There are tastings each day of the fortified and varietal wines here, and you will find that the kinds that are offered here are quite unique indeed. Timbertown Wines are associated with and a part of the fine and famed Bago Vineyard, so it is no great wonder that the wines from Timbertown are so good!

Inside, Timbertown Winery has a special sort of atmosphere that is quite appealing. Known as a specialist winery, the wines that are for sale here at retail prices are definitely the kind you will want to take home and savour after your holiday is over and you are back home. There is also a wide range of other regional products besides wine for sale here. You can only buy this special Timbertown wine here at the winery, so if you taste one that you would like more of, it's a good idea to purchase some for later consumption.

Hours of operation are from 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM daily except Christmas Day. A family, which is considered to be two children and two adults, can pay an all inclusive admission price of AUD $12 and take advantage of everything in the Timbertown Heritage Theme Park Village, including the winery. A single admission is AUD $5, while a child can get in for AUD $3, as can seniors.

It isn't often you can find a venue that has something of interest to everyone in the family, but Timbertown Heritage Theme Park has managed to do this - and quite well, too!
