HTML gives provision for the alignment of an entire block of page elements. The div and /div container can be used to enclose it. Division is called by Div. The align attribute is supported by div and so we can use it to align a block of text and graphics to centre. All the elements between the div and /div tags are aligned according to the definition given by the div tag, except for elements which have their own alignment defined. The align attribute can also assume the values left or right. We can also use in line styles with the div tag to set the style for entire block of HTML within the document. Div tag makes professional web design very easy. The font tag is used to provide control over the appearance of the text. The font element is a container that is opened with the font and closed with the /font end tag. Using the face, size and color attributes in the font element we can modify the appearance of the text in the documents. The face attribute allows to specify the font that we would like the viewing software to use when displaying our document. The parameter for this attribute is the name of the desired font. HTML also provides tags to order the lists which are very beneficial in professional web design as it increases the readability of the web pages. It makes the web page user friendly. This tag is known as ordered list tag. OL and /OL tags along with L1 tags are used to create ordered lists in web documents. Nested ordered lists can also be created with the help of HTML. The text in HTML can also be in form of unordered lists which is termed as bulleted lists. Ordered lists are very similar to them. UL and /UL are used to create unordered lists. Menu lists are rendered by most of the browsers as unordered lists. The difference lies in the fact that menu lists are mainly used for HTML identification. Menu and /menu tags are used to render menu lists. Menu lists provide beginning and ending line breaks like other lists and may include other HTML elements in the menu container. The anchor tag A and /A is the most appropriate HTML element that can be used in this type of list to link the menu listings to other resources on the internet. For professional web design directory list is an important HTML tag. Lists can be created using dir and /dir container tags. These tags are intended to display items like file directories in rows as it done by the dir command of DOS and UNIX with W as a parameter.
