How Do I Make My Own Articles?

Writer's block… It's the only thing standing between you and your success, besides the constant interruptions and events already taking place in your life. You may be thinking that this article writing stuff is going to take up loads of time and just making one article will take an eternity. STOP! There are ways to make this process as painless as possible. Plus, you already know more than you think you might. It has been said that if you have read more than five books on a particular topic that you can write a book about it. And all you have to do is write a few paragraphs to make a successful article.

Time Management

Before I get into the structure and system of creating articles I must first address a major issue. You will have to invest some time in this. I suggest that you, at the very minimum, devote 2-3 hours a week toward writing your articles. The good thing to know; however, is that you do not have to work on your articles continuously. Every time a good idea comes to you write it down on a notepad which you keep with you during the day.

Write Down Your Ideas as They Come to You

In order to knock out a decent amount of articles each week (3-5), you will have to work on about three ideas at a time. This will increase your progress by providing you with multiple topics to think about. When you get stuck on one, go to the next one and see what you can get done for that topic.

What to Write About

Having a strategy or system to follow when it comes to creating your articles will make the entire process move along more smoothly. Here's your step-by-step guide to creating quality articles.

Brainstorm Ideas

First of all, you are going to have to choose the right topic for an article. This is the most important part of the process. Your article topics have to be related to your website. Sometimes this may seem difficult. If you are having some trouble choosing a topic, visit forums. Whether the forums you visit are located on your site or another, you will gain an idea of what your market's interests are and maybe some insight into their interests.

In your notebook, write down the areas of interest to your target market. These areas or categories are possible topics to write about. Keep in mind that your topics have to be relevant to your website. The most successful articles will fit into one or more of the categories below. Pick one or more and proceed to the next step.

Angles of Approach

Solve a Problem/ Teach a Skill

What is your website's focus? What products do you sell and how do they help your customers accomplish their tasks? If your website is geared towards bringing more visitors to your golf course you may want to consider writing articles about golf techniques. Some other ideas could be: finding the time to golf, driving/ putting skills ect.

Answer a Question

Do you have a Frequently Asked Questions page on your site? You can use this as a great source of topics for articles. Answer their questions in an article. This article could be placed on your site in addition to being submitted to article directories. More about directories and postings will be mentioned in the following sections.

Tell Them "What Not to Do"

Consumer Reports makes more money than you can imagine and they don't even make or sell the products they review. All they do is give highly dependable information about products, which aids in buyer's decisions.

Show Them How to Save Time and/or Money

This one can apply to a number of things. If your competitors are charging for a product or service which you offer for free, LET PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT IT! There are countless ways that you can help your readers save money. Also, this is one of the best ways to gain their confidence. Think about it, you are offering them free knowledge which they would not have known otherwise. It's just like having a friend let them in on a secret that makes their lives a little easier.
