Do you love using search engines like Google, MSN or Yahoo to find information? Whenever you are using a search engine, the information about your short "stay" will be tracked: IP address, the research, profile and even your name (because so many people type their own name to know if others can find it!) This information is stored by the search engines - with no exception.

We have put together a summary about the search engines regulations:

Search engines' privacy policies
Google anonymizes user data after: 18 months
Google gives user control over data: No
Microsoft anonymizes user data after: 18 months
Microsoft gives user control over data: End 2007
Yahoo! anonymizes user data after: 13 months
Yahoo! gives user control over data: No
Ask anonymizes user data after: 18 months
Ask gives user control over data: AskEraser: End 2007

By the end of 2007 Microsoft and Ask want to launch a new system to give the user the choice about their personal information being stored or not.
