Everytime I'm at the gym, I see people doing sit ups and I laugh a little because of it. These people will never see any results. No one that does sit ups see any results because they don't produce results. You can choose where fat comes off your body, and sit ups aren't going to make the fat come off your stomach. You should be working out your full body, so you burn far more calories and more fat.

As for your diet, you need to start eating smaller meals more often. I typically eat 6 smaller portioned meals a day because it speeds up my metabolism, making me a fat burning machine. It seems a little excessive at first, but you'll give used to it. It's really the most important thing to do for quick 6 pack abs.
