There is in essence only one real bad breath cure. There is no magical bad breath cure, a one cure for all. But depending on your set of conditions, chances are their is a reliable bad breath cure for you. The cure for you is determined by the cause of your bad breath.

The most common Bad breath cure is to brush your teeth more. Oral bacteria is the cause of the smell. By regularly brushing, you can remove most of this oral bacteria from your mouth. Oral bacteria resides on your teeth and more importantly on your tounge. If you want to cure yourself of bad breath you need to make sure you properly clean your tounge twice a day. The ammount of oral bacteria that can collect on your tounge really quiet quickly and give you fairly chronic bad breath is very surprising. Another thing you should be aware of is that you clean all the excess foodstuffs from your mouth, as this is another major cause of bad breath. This is where flossing comes into play. It is excellent at removing pieces of waste food from areas inbetween your teeth that your brush could not get to. As a extra precaution, I would suggest using a good mouth wash. this will help to lower the levels of acidity in your mouth, and therfore can only help to lower the chances of badbreath.

Another common bad breath cure is to cut strong smelling foods from your diet. Foodstuffs such as onion and garlic can have a very pungent smell attached to them. This smell will stay on your breath for anywhere up to a day. Imagine explaining that to your date;"That smell is yesterdays garlic potatoes." Attractive.

As a side note, if you do enjoy foods such as these stated above, you can try to cover the smell up with a breath mint or by chewing so gum. Many people however, when chewing gum get very dry mouths. If this happens to you, be sure to drink plenty of water. A dry mouth, means you do not have enough saliva to wash away the oral bacteria we talked about earlier. This will leave you with traditional dog breath, as opposed to onion breath.

My final bad breath cure, is to cut back on high protein foods such as steak, chicken or fresher foods like fruit and veg. These can cause bad breath. Even by just cutting these out of one meal a week, substantial results can be achieved. If you think you may suffering from bad breath, but "cant figure it out" this is most likely the reason.
