What's The Most Important Action

"I'm not sure what action to take first?" This question and similar ones are asked more often than not, in my coaching sessions and classes. Other questions my clients ponder are, "Is this the right action? Will it yield the results I want?"

A general answer is always going to be questions back, "What do you feel most inspired to do?" It's usually very clear in every person's mind what they truly want to do first but it's not always what they choose. I was recently speaking to a client about his business. He had a list of actions to take to reach his goal, but he was burned out by taking too many actions. He was very tired. He said he'd love to spend the rest of his weekday lounging at home. I told him it was a perfect idea and to do it. Really? Stay home and chill out when there is so much to do at work? Uh…YES! What will make you feel better at the end of the day? If the answer is chilling it out, then honor it.

Important points: Once you make a choice, enjoy it. If you pull that regret stuff on yourself, you are setting yourself up to lose. Make a decision and make it right. If you are half way into something and you change your mind, that's fine. Choose another action that will feel better. You are never locked into anything. I was thrown a party once and didn't show up because I was not feeling up to it. The party went on fabulously without me. I was a little nervous about what other people might think, but once I made the choice and followed through I was soooo happy!

Giving yourself permission to do exactly what you want is a foreign concept to the vast majority of people I work with. Clients plead their case to me about all the things they HAVE to do. I never buy into it, UNLESS they simply will not trust that it's okay to follow their inspiration. Then they must take the action that will give them some relief in their mind. For instance, if my house is messy and driving me nuts then I might clean it a bit before I sit down and work on another project for my business. Once I have a clean space, then I feel relieved and more free to give my attention to the project.

Remember, you yield more results in all areas of your life when your emotional state is joy, peace, excited or relaxed. I always tell people to go on vacation if they want to attract more money into their lives. Why? Because they are having a good time on vacation and they are more aligned with positive thoughts. I know many of you reading this have created a list with your most important goals for this year written on it. Many of you have taken it a step farther and made a plan of action under each goal. This is where it can get tricky. What action should be first? The easiest action may be the best first step if you need to create some momentum. It's nice to get a success under your belt to give you a greater sense of confidence. Then you can work up to some of the actions that you may feel a bit over whelmed by. You may even come up with a better plan in the meantime.

Another strategy is to take the action that seems the biggest or scariest first. That way every other action will seem like cupcakes to you. It will also put a BIG win under your belt adding to your feeling of being at super hero status in your eyes. I know it may sound silly, but anything that makes you feel good about yourself, actually assists you in tapping into your own power. This in turn will allow for a more effortless tap into your intuition, creativity and persuasive selling abilities. This includes getting your mate to take you to YOUR favorite restaurant when they really want to go to theirs!

I really encourage you to commit to taking inspired actions only for the next two weeks. Yes, you may still have to do some things like show up at your job and pick up the kids from soccer but the rest of your life can be put into choice mode. Choose consciously to do things the way you want to do them. Catch yourself if you find yourself 'shoulding' and forcing yourself to do a task and simply stop. So, what if the laundry sits there for another day?! Will the world stop spinning?

What do you feel like doing right now that would make you feel really, really good?
