Web Advertising is the business of drawing public attention to goods and services on the internet, and is performed through a variety of methods. It is an important part of promotional components for marketing your business that attempts to create, expand and maintain a collection of customers.

So, web advertising is a big business, and getting bigger every day. If you're trying to build your business on the Internet, or trying to profit from the success of your site, you need to understand how web advertising works. Prices of web-based advertising spaces are dependent on the relevance of the surrounding web content and the traffic that the website receives.

Web Advertising Methods:

• Search Engine Optimization: (Organic SEO/Organic Advertising)

Search engine optimization is the process of choosing targeted keyword phrases related to a website, and ensuring that the website places well when those keyword phrases are part of a web search.

Organic search engine optimization campaigns offer several advantages over pay-per-click advertising campaigns.

Web site traffic refers to the number of times your site is viewed by the users. It is the most important point to be made for the success of your online business.

Major Search Engines: Ask.com, Google, Snap, Windows Live Search, Yahoo! Search and much more

• Advertising Networks: (Pay Per Click Advertising)

If you are in a hurry to get your site noticed, or if you have money to spend on advertising, pay-per-click search engines offer a perfect solution.

You will most likely receive targeted traffic from all major search engines if you were using pay per click method. People will see your site in the sponsored links section of the search results when they search for keyword phrases related to your products or services.

However, there are undoubtedly certain situations where pay-per-click advertising makes more sense than other methods.

Major PPC Networks: Google's AdWords and AdSense, AdBrite, BidClix, MIVA , ValueClick, Yahoo! Search Marketing and much more.

• Opt-in e-mail Advertising:

This is a method of advertising by electronic mail wherein the recipient of the advertisement has consented to receive it. It is one of several ways developed by marketers to eliminate the disadvantages of e-mail marketing.

This type of advertising is rapidly becoming popular; Email advertising is literally a fraction of the cost of any traditional marketing methods.

• Web Banner Advertising:

A web banner or banner ad is a form of advertising on the web. This form of online advertising entails embedding an advertisement into a web page. It is intended to attract traffic to a website by linking them to the web site of the advertiser.

• Text Ads:

Popular in newsletters, and on many sites, text ads continue to grow in popularity. A text ad consists of a few lines of copy together with a link or an email address for action. Text ads can be priced like banner ads on a CPM (cost per 1000 impression) or CPC (Cost per Click) basis.

• Pixel Advertising:

Pixel advertising is the term given to visual advertisements on the web which have their cost calculated depending on the number of pixels which they occupy.

Last year, a brilliant website created by a bright British man named Alex (www.milliondollarhomepage.com).

The concept is simple: sell pixels on a website to raise some money. The concept quickly became very popular, and thousands of copycat sites were created, but I have my doubt in their success. An ad will only work for the original site.

Disadvantages of Pixel advertising:

1. Not targeted traffic: Visitors that would visit the site could not specifically be interested in your business; they could have clicked on your link by accident. Therefore, they will not benefit you in any way because they're not target costumers.

2. Not content rich websites: Pixel advertising websites are NOT content rich websites, or we can say it doesn't' have contents at ALL. And as we all know, search engine LOVES content rich websites.

3. Link farm websites: You will be advertising your business among thousands of other advertisers on the same page, so it will be so crowded with many different businesses. Therefore the visitor will most likely not be able to see your business logo from all the others.

• Profit-Share Advertising System: (Alternative to Pixel Ads)

It is an innovative and creative system for advertising on the web. This system gives the advertiser the opportunity to advertise his/her business and share the profits while he/she can resell the ad place at any time for big revenue.

49Adwinners.com gives any business owner the chance to advertise with just $1, while others may advertise with $1,000,000 for an equal size of ad space.

Main components:

Ad Prices per Place, Ad Prices per PR, Upgrading Ads, Domains to Be Won, Profit Share and Referral Program.

Advantages of Profit-share:

• The opportunity to advertise your business for a longer term at a brand new ad model.
• The ability to resell the ad place for some or could be huge revenue.
• The advertiser may win a domain name from a domains list which may be worth the ad price or even more.
• Active advertiser will profit 50% of all Text Ads in his business profile page

Enjoy!
