Women and Stress

How does stress affect health?

When we do hormone lab tests on women we find startling clues to stress and fatigue. On every person tested, the adrenal glands are in exhaustion; not just fatigue, but extreme exhaustion. Also, on every test done, without exception, the cortisol levels are not high, but extremely low. These hormone levels are completely backwards. Cortisol is not being produced because the adrenal glands are just too worn out. No wonder so many people are exhausted.
To add to this mess, many people are testing hypothyroid. One more generation of this and most people won't even be able to get out of bed! The delicate endocrine system was never designed for the abuse we humans put it through. Abuse through stress, bad food, toxins, bad emotions, infections, trauma... seems to be the "normal" for almost all of us.
Stress is killing us softly. And it's not getting any better. It's getting worse.

There are ways to reduce kinds of stress and they require more Attention and Intention than ever before. I have spent my career so far helping people remove different stressors in their lives.

Where to begin. First, I think you need to compartmentalize the types of stress. Let's put them in three broad groups, shall we?

A. Traumatic stress
B. Biochemical/Nutritional stress
C. Mental/Emotional stress

Traumatic stress is of course, physical. Are there things you do like crash a hang glider once a week that add to your stress? What about pounding the pavement on a jog every other day? Those are stressors and they may be too much for you. Evaluate your physical life and come up with at least one traumatic stressor you can eliminate from your life.

Biochemical and Nutritional stressors are getting more serious every day. Chemicals other people call food are wreaking havoc in your hormonal system. I mean, disrupting it to the point of causing lab tests to go awry. How long can this continue? For a simple and useful list of tips go to my site, copy the information and put it to use: http://www.stress-less-living.com/diet.html

Now we get to the biggy-EMOTIONS! Where do we begin? Got a month to talk? By far, emotional stress is nailing the coffin shut on almost everyone's life because of its destructive effects on the body. You can't see it, can't touch it, can't run a lab test on emotional stress but we all know how harmful it can be.

We have emotional stress related to parents, grandparents, relatives, siblings, jobs, finances, spouses, kids, money-even the past and future. We can't get away from it! It slowly eats away at us like a worm in an apple until we find ourselves rotten on the inside. And it seems like its too bad and we're too far gone to do anything about it. So what shall we do?

Do you know there are powerful ways of neutralizing the harmful jolts of emotional stress? There are many soft, natural ways of handling emotional stress. These exist because many ingenious people have discovered them.

If you think of emotional stress literally as a jolt, a disruption of your nervous system, that has caused a disruption in your energy system, you can literally neutralize the chaos to a blip in your psyche. I'm not talking about far-out, kooky things that you have to do or wave over yourself. I'm talking about locating your emotional epi-centers and ironing out the wrinkles.

That's too general, but think about it. If you could find the feeling that you buried alive and you had a procedure to neutralize that powerful feeling, you could literally re-write the script into something that would be helpful, not harmful; empowering, not disengaging.

Too wild? So is emotional stress. Let's get a handle on it. There are ways of doing just this, and in reality, we don't really have an option today. If you do this now you can change the course of your life.
