There are a lot of people who are getting into bodybuilding more and more. Some people want to build muscle mass, others want to tone up their bodies and still others want to make a profession of it. It doesn't matter what your reason is. I am going to talk to you about how to build muscle mass. There are two key factors that you need to know about if you are going to build muscle mass the correct way.

There are all kinds of different types of exercise equipment that you can use for bodybuilding. However, when you are trying to build muscle mass you will want to use free weights. These are better for building muscle mass than machines. Machines are better for toning the body.

When using free weights your muscles will get more stressed out with free weights such as barbells and bench press. However, this is the quickest way to build your muscles. Also with free weights you will be able to gauge your true strength better than you could with machines.

Lifting weights and working out are a crucial part to building muscle mass. You need to realize that the type of work out and lifting that you do will determine how efficiently and quickly you accomplish this. You need to know what the correct number of set and repetitions are for each muscle group.

The different muscle groups will all require different amounts of stress in order for you to see the results that you want. You need to be careful that you use the right amount of stress for each group as not using the right amount of stress will tone your muscles but not actually build your muscle mass.

When you are a beginner you will need to get a feel for the correct weight for you. Everybody body is different and no workout will work for everyone. For most workouts that people use to build muscle mass you will need to do 4 to 6 sets with 6 to 8 reps for all your major muscle groups.

The major muscle group is the chest, back, thighs, shoulders and arms. Then there are the smaller muscle groups, such as the abdominals and calves. For these you will need to do 2 to 4 sets with 10 to 15 reps.

While the workout is a crucial part of building muscle mass, the second key factor is your diet. You will need to eat a healthy diet when you are doing a vigorous workout.

You will want to eat more calories that you burn during your workout. High protein will be an important part of your diet, such as protein that is derived from animal sources. In other words you can eat something like steak.

Then you will also want to get your carbohydrates such as potatoes, rice, beans, bread and pasta. Protein will help you build muscle mass and carbohydrates will help you keep up your intensity level. By combing the two you will be able to stay energized for your workout.
By following these two key factors you will be able to build muscle mass.
