Well the plain and simple truth is neither, a number of marketers worked out a long time ago that its highly unlikely that very many first time visitors will purchase and that the best way to achieve sales is with a planned follow up and an insurance policy.

That way you will have reversed the position now instead of you doing all the work and the affiliate program owner getting most of the money you'll have shafted them out of their back end and you and not them will have increased your sales prospect list by one more willing buyer.
