Birth of a New Age

As we move from 2008 to 2009, the hype about the end of the world will increase as it has for each of the last few years. But, is it the end of the world or a transition into a new one? Because the Mayan calendar ends on 12-21-12 does that mean anything more than the month of November ends on the 30th or that the end of the year occurs on 12-31-08. Months end and begin new ones, years and and begin new ones and so why can't era's end and new ones begin?

The birth of most things new come with a mixture of blood, pain, and agony as well as excitement, hope, and promise for the future. The Mayan calender is not unlike other civilizations epochs and eras going all the way back to Atlantis, Sumeria, and other ancient civilizations.

It is no accident than that associated with the year 2012, scientists can see some of where such catastrophic events might come to offer us that "Blood, pain, and agony". Chief among the suspect would be the sun which impacts us so much more than almost everyone knows. There was a reason that ancient civilizations were sun worshippers.

Added to the paranoia are such things as huge cracks in our magnetic field that shilds us from income radiation, an interstellar plasma energy filed that's beginning to wreck havoc on our solar system, the crossing of the galactic plane and what the effects of a suspected black hole or dark rift might do, and for those who look at really, really long cycles, there's the catastrophic supervolcano eruptions like Toba and our immediate threat, Yellowstone.

So, at a time when there seems to be a promise of increased consciousness that will lead us to more peaceful and esoteric times (the excitement, hope, and promise part), which I might add has been measured, we must realize that any BIRTHING brings with it things that we'd rather not experience. But, experience them we will; however, to do so without alos seeing the possible potential can leave one totally devasted and fearful.

Don't go there!

As a spiritual-futurist, I interpret current events in light of possible macro-universal forces at play leading up to 2012, but not limited to it.
