A Prophet's Lot In Life And How He/She Survives

A few years ago when I was taught the role of the five fold ministry of the Apostle, prophets, Evangelists, pastors and teachers, I sat down to write and email to a friend and spoke about what I wanted to do in my life for God.

I told her that I wanted to bring people who did not know Jesus to his light as an evangelist.

But I knew before I did that I would have to educate the people in churches on how to witness to their friends and how to drop out tracts and advertise spiritual meetings so that I would have an audience of non Christians when I came to their church.

But I knew that in order to get people to conquer their fear of witnessing and sharing their faith I would have to teach them how to walk in the Spirit and live a righteous life and have a life full of testimony.

And I realized that I could not go to a church once, but I would need to shepherd the pastor and the pastors of the churches and be in regular contact with them to answer questions and inform them on their next steps.

I wanted to save people and I wanted to have people come to know Jesus in a crucified life like mine that sees signs and wonders and intimate fellowship with Jesus and the Father.

When I wrote down all that I wanted to do I worked out that the minimum that I would be is a prophet. Then I had to go to work and find out what a prophet is and how to do the job.

I have seen so called prophets going from church to church bringing great words and speaking of peace and prosperity and outpourings of the Holy Spirit and yet the only message I get for the average church is for them to stop serving mammon, to turn their back on the world, to tithe and repent from their sins and live a Spirit filled Spirit led life.

The prophet Amos says this about a true prophet.

Amos 5:10 (New King James Version) 10 They hate the one who rebukes in the gate,

And they abhor the one who speaks uprightly.

This scripture says that people living in a lukewarm life that is not pleasing to God hate the prophet that rebukes the people of God. They hate a man that speaks of serving God with all your time, heart and money. They hate a man that says you should not disregard the poor and that you have to forgive your enemies and you have to stop your gossip and judging. They hate to hear a message that requires them to repent and they hate teaching that smashes their doctrines that allow them to ignore God. A true prophet in wicked times is known as a fool and suffers.

Hosea 9:7-8 (Amplified Bible)

7The days of visitation and punishment have come; the days of recompense have come; Israel shall know it. The prophet is [considered] a crazed fool and the man who is inspired is [treated as if] mad or a fanatic, because of the abundance of your iniquity and because the enmity, hostility, and persecution are great.

8Ephraim was [intended to be] a watchman with my God [and a prophet to the surrounding nations]; but he, that prophet, has become a fowler's snare in all his ways. There is enmity, hostility, and persecution in the house of his God. As a prophet I find many people reject my teachings. As an evangelist I find few people that want to join me and preach to the unsaved. As a teacher I find few people that are happy with what I teach. As a man of God I am happy that God is happy with me.

But serving has its rewards. Today Michael the arch angel and Gabriel escorted me to church, one on my right hand side, one on my left. At church Abigail from the Bible and Mary Magdalene danced in ballet before the Lord in worship and then appeared to two people as I helped them open their spiritual eyes. Later tonight Mary prophesied to a good friend of mine and spoke a comforting word to her through email. Yes a prophet's life can be hard. One day I will have churches inviting me and some people laughing and being inspired but I know that many more in the churches will hate me and my message.

God bless you.
