The Truth About Success

"On my own little journey to success, I stretch, out of tiredness and look up out of hope. I am hoping to, no longer hoping for" - Keji Giwa

I am yet to meet a man or woman that made it to the top without a sweat!

if you are not ready to imagine & explore, don't bother!

if you are not ready to start with the end in mind, forget it!

if you are not ready to embrace today's sufferings for tomorrow's success, walk away!

if you are not ready to prepare your mind and body for what lies ahead by acquiring knowledge and wisdom, then failure could be the other option.

if you are not ready to plan, then you are planning to fail

if you are not ready to ignore the pain of resistance, discouragement, tiredness, set backs, failures, disappointments and loneliness, then success is not for you.

if you are ready for success, then be ready to look like him when you get to the top!

Everyone wants to be successful but not everyone wants to work for it. The internet is filled with so many 'get rich quick' schemes and despite the alarming warning signals of 'Don't fall for it!' people still follow the bait in their millions.

Why? No one likes to go through the pains of success but everyone wants the results of the pain you go through when you succeed.

The Truth! Wake up and smell the coffee. It is a fact of life, success comes with pain but how you manage and overcome that pain depends on what is already on the inside of you. The pain is caused by external factors but the power to overcome that pain and press on regardless is internally built. For example, if you don't see yourself succeeding (internal), all it takes is for a friend to tell you that you are a failure and that becomes gospel to you (external). You could start a business idea and half way through the first year, things get harder than ever. You realise that it is easier to dream than to actualise. You also notice that just because it's your dream does not mean that everyone has to make it a reality or want it to be a reality. If your focus is not on the expected end, you could abandon the project prematurely based on the resistances and obstacles faced by most new ideas.

You are not meant to die in circumstances, you are meant to go through them! You can do this by using what is inside of you to overcome what is outside of you, but if you are unaware of what is inside how can you overcome what is outside?

"I had enjoyed the personal challenge and problem solving of mountain ascents. Just as in the lab, mountain climbing required discipline -- but with more profound immediate risks. One of the primary challenges, though, was overcoming the stigma that women couldn't be good mountain climbers. Being told that women lack the strength and skill to climb the toughest mountains provoked me to organize the first all-women's expedition to 20,320-foot-high Denali (Mt. McKinley), the highest point in North America." - Arlene Blum. She succeeded. - Ph.D. '71, biophysical chemistry, she is one of the world's preeminent mountain climbers. She is also the author of Annapurna: A Woman's Place and most recently, Breaking Trail: A Climbing Life.

What to do now!
1. Focus on the expected end
2. Plan and prepare your mind & body
3. Acquire the right knowledge & wisdom
4. Be determined and resilient
