Pioneering mobile phone manufacturer Motorola, which initially started off as Galvin Manufacturing Corporation in 1928, is one of the most celebrated names in the history of the mobile phone industry. Schaumburg, Illinois based American telecommunication leader Motorola made news in the 1930s with its successful release of the first ever car radio. Achieving a phenomenal commercial success with its much popular product, Motorola went on through a long phase of acquisitions and selling of several firms to expand its technology and make a positive impact with something better. Their big break came in the form of their venture into the wireless communication arena, which happened in the year 1983 with the company's first cellular telephone network beginning their commercial operation. Initially developed by American Telephone and Telegraph's Bell Laboratories in the early 1970s as a first, the cellular remote telephone system soon saw a broader horizon through Motorola.

With a history of huge list of subsidiaries under its belt, Motorola Inc. made huge strides in the late 1990s with revenues soaring up to $30 billion as the manufacturer started recording massive sales of digital cellular telephones across several parts of the world. The turn of the new millennium saw the emergence of several more players in the mobile phone arena, with Finnish stalwart Nokia being one of the most impressive and dominating later on. Naturally, such a big proliferation of contenders called in for fierce competition, which did happen and was faced bravely by Motorola. Motorola applied its intelligence to the best of its capacity and made its presence known in the fast evolving age of technological wizardry and came out with mesmerising Motorola mobile phones. With newer and better technologies making their entry to give users a piece of everything, Motorola came out with some really awe-inspiring mobile phones with cutting-edge features. Some of its most successful mobile phones are Motorola W375, Motorola RAZR V3, Motorola RAZR V3x, Motorola RIZR Z8 and Motorola ROKR Z6.
