Communication, PBX systems- Make call forwarding and call transferring easy
PBX or a Private Branch Exchange telephone system is an advanced business telephone system. These systems are designed to provide connections among telephones, fax machines, modems and other extensions of a private organization, as well as with external public telephone networks.
With the development of technology, PBX systems have become cheaper. Therefore, these systems are being used not only by large companies but also by many small and medium sized businesses as well. One of the advantages of acquiring such a system is that these systems could be expanded easily as the business grows. A PBX system generally consists of internal phone network, external phone lines and a console for manual control.
Traditional PBX systems use physical lines to route calls throughout the office. Because of this reason, the system becomes more expensive for a business with the increasing complexity of the system. To overcome this difficulty, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) PBX systems have been developed. These systems take the help of internet technology to carry and connect calls. These systems have many features that are quite advantageous for small businesses. Some of these advantages are: they are easier to administer, easier to upgrade and are much cheaper than traditional systems. Use of VoIP technology makes it possible for a businessman to operate the phone system over existing data networks. Such a facility not only reduces cost but also provides a lot of versatility and freedom as well.
Some of the common features of any IP PBX system would include the facilities of call forwarding, auto dialing, call transfer, call waiting, conference call capability, speed dialing, automatic ring back, busy override, direct inward dialing, do not disturb features, interactive voice response, hold music, computer telephony integration any many more features. These features could be selected as per the requirement of the business.
Companies that function at only one location, do not make too many long distance calls and connects through their own phone systems might still prefer to have the traditional PBX system. But, because of the added features available with the system, IP PBX system is becoming more and more popular with business people.
