Grandparents Might be Responsible for Homosexuality

Homosexuality is in the news once again. This time a baptist preacher is stirring controversy as he says Homosexuality can be determined as far back as the womb. I say it goes further back, before the womb. Look to previous generations for answers.

Let me explain. Twin studies research homosexuality by looking at identical twins. They are particularly interested in twins reared apart. Since often only one twin reports homosexuality, the other does not, they conclude that there must be environmental forces at work.

It amazes me that researchers have not explored family patterns for homosexuality stemming back over multiple generations.

I believe that twinning and homosexuality, are related, and twinning and reproduction are related. Some people don't have children not because of homosexuality, but because of a genetic factor relating to twinning. I also think that fraternal twins should be explored in more depth as it is in fraternal twins, that the genetic component is most likely to be seen.

Having fraternal twins is an inherited trait. Identical twins are not. Twins don't run in my family, they gallop. My greatgrandmother was blessed or cursed, depending upon how you view it, with three sets of twins. They were all fraternal, and they were all girls. They were born around the turn of the century, or the early 1900's.

This is what happened. One twin died at birth. Her pair, identified herself as being homosexual. This was during a time in America when people did not speak openly about the subject. It ws much more in the closet. The next pair of twins were raised, with one having children, and the other did not. The one who did not, didn't proclaim homosexuality, nor live the lifestyle, she just didn't have children.

The remaining three twins had children, none having more than two children each. Of those who had children, each had at least one grandchild who proclaimed homosexuality.

The homosexual members of the family were not twins, but each had a grandmother who was a twin. More research is needed in exploring homosexuality and twinning particularly over three generational models.

I discovered these truths in my own family through looking at a model of teddy bears I developed to explore generational patterns.
