More celebs say give Brit a break

Hollywood can’t stop talking about Britney Spears potentially career-ending performance at Sunday’s video music awards and this has led to several celebrities calling for a cease-fire. Popsugar, a celebrity gossip blog, noted in a post today that a member of the Black Eyed Peas has spoken up on Britney’s behalf. According to Popsugar, during an interview yesterday “Fergie let out an impassioned plea for people to give Spears a break.”

Another notable celebrity also came to Britney’s defence last night, as Simon Cowell of American Idol fame, told reporters that Britney’s career may not be over because “the world is talking about her more than ever.” Kanye West, himself not a big fan of MTV these days, accused MTV of setting up an out-of-shape Spears to deliberately ruin her career.

Vanessa Hudgens offered Girls Gone Wild gig

The National Ledger, a celebrity gossip blog, reported today that after the fall-out from the Vanessa Hudgens nude photo scandal, she has been offered a new job. The job is definitely not one from her current employers- Disney. According to the National Ledger, Girls Gone Wild producer Joe Francis has offered Hudgens “up to a half million dollars to join the ‘Girls Gone Wild’ gang and promote the franchise.” Jennifer Cox, who wrote the post, said that Francis is underestimating Hudgens class, “Joe must think he is still dealing with wayward American idol starlets.  That's a bit of an insult to a star like Vanessa.”

While many people have dismissed the offer as just another instance of Francis doing something to get himself on TV, the offer could prove to be more tempting if Disney axes Hudgens from any further High School Musical productions.

There are rumors circulating that a second set of photos is set to hit the internet any day now. Disney has claimed that while a one-time mistake by a young star is forgivable, another set of photos could be the final nail in the coffin for Hudgens Disney career. 

Hayden Panettiere now single

Heroes’ hotty Hayden Panettiere has suddenly split from her boyfriend, Laguna Beach’s Stephen Colletti. According to a post from Evil Beet, a celebrity gossip blog, Hayden must have dumped her boyfriend “after realizing that she is young, hot and famous and he was, well, popular in 2005.” The split was confirmed during a red-carpet interview “when asked where Stephen was at the VMA’s where Stephen was Hayden replied “I don’t know. In California.”

The post made it abundantly clear that the relationship should probably have ended several months ago. There seems to be an unwritten rule in Hollywood that if you are young, hot and significantly more popular than the person you are currently dating; you should probably ditch them as fast as humanly possible.

Evil Beet believes that the timing of the break-up has a lot to do with the fact that Hayden recently turned 18. Now that she’s legal, her options are much more impressive. “So who’s Hayden going to end up with now that she’s legal? Justin Timberlake? Ryan Phillippe? Ooh, John Mayer, perhaps?”

Lyndsay Lohan back in court

Celebrity gossip blog Socialite Life is reporting that Lyndsay Lohan’s legal troubles are far from over. As many of us already know, the Lohan family has had no shortage of courtroom visits over the past few years. Socialite Life’s latest post states that “at the moment, the legal entanglement that's most pressing is the suit made against Lindsay by the other driver in her October 2005 car accident.”

Raymundo Ortega, the other driver, is now “claiming that the starlet admitted to have had drunk a few drinks before getting behind the wheel.” Lohan’s lawyers believe that Ortega is merely using Lohan’s admitted problems with alcohol against her in order to further his chance of a payday. Ortega may have a good chance of a settlement as Socialite Life also notes that “an L.A. Superior Court judge recently denied Linday's request that certain parts of the lawsuit be dismissed.”

Although she’s managed to stay out of the tabloids for the past while (thank you Britney Spears) things could certainly be going from bad to worse for Lyndsay Lohan.
