So, you downloaded the new Internet Explorer 7? You have my condolences. One of the first things you will have to try to learn is how to fix glitches with Internet Explorer 7.

Every so often, a new program is released that revolutionizes the way we use computers. Internet Explore 7 is not such a program unless you enjoy banging your head on the desk. It is el junko, a dog, the pits, a piece of...well, you get the idea. The beta version being marketed by Yahoo is something that has so many flaws it is laughable. If this is Microsoft's effort to win back users from Firefox, it is doing just the opposite.

So, what problems are you having? Let me guess. Sites you visited all of the time with Internet Explorer 6 do not load? Perhaps you have run into the joyous moment when Explorer 7 freezes when you try to tab between pages? Advanced users find it particularly momentous when Explorer conflicts with updates to sub-programs being offered by MICROSOFT! Lovely. Just lovely.

Is it possible to fix glitches for internet explorer 7? Yes, you can theoretically repair the program when it does its bizarre little things. Microsoft actually takes the position there is nothing wrong with Explorer 7. Instead, the company says the problem lies with all the sites. They are not designed to the specifications of Explorer 7 or so the excuse goes. Apparently, Microsoft expects the billions of websites out there to redesign themselves to the Explorer 7 specs. Good luck with that.

Regardless, Microsoft has caved on the repair issue. It has put out a secondary program that you can download to see all the things that don't work on Explorer 7. Go to Microsoft's site and do a search for "User String Agent Utility". Having said that, I highly recommend that you DO NOT USE THIS PROGRAM. My own tests and those of others show that it seems to fail to fix the problems with Explorer 7 and actually cause more!

So, what can you do? You are not going to like this answer. Most people are finding the best solution is to remove Explorer 7 entirely and go back to Explorer 6. Microsoft will eventually get around to making Explorer 7 functional, but it is going to take a while. If you want to hang in there, you can do it but I don't think it is a smart move.
