There are a lot of iPad cases to pick from, regrettably, the prices are ludicrous at your local BestBuy stores. The prices for a decent iPad case can go anywhere from $50 right up to $100 dollars at many of the BestBuy type electronics retailers. And while I do agree that you MUST protect your iPad - it just makes sense to do so, I can't help but think that our tendency to put a case on our gadgets is being taken advantage of.

We can count our lucky stars that there are a good number of stores online that will ship you a case for less than what it costs in your local computer store - even after shipping costs you're looking at about 50% less.

In all honesty, the suggestion I give all of my friends when they ask me about which case they should buy is to go and look for an iPad case online and save some money. We can't save on the price of our iPad's, that's just fact. You're going to pay at LEAST $499 for the most affordable entry model, no matter where you shop. But you can save yourself a considerable amount of money by being a smart shopper when it comes to your iPad case. When leather cases are upwards of $75.00 at most retailers, you can get the exact same case online for about $25 to $30 - now that's money well spent.

I'm a fan of leather cases for the iPad myself. I love my iPad and love how elegant is both looks and feels, and for me, adding a good quality leather case ups that elegance even more. I honestly can't imagine something that looks this good, with a cheap, bright orange case wrapped around it. I am aware that a lot of people swear by the plastic silicone cases for some added grip for their iPad. You may be a fan and naturally that's just fine, I just don't like them myself.

While there are a lot of people that just want to add something funky to the back of the iPad - both for looks and for protecting the gorgeous back of their iPad, I prefer to cases that offer a bit more. Since I use my iPad as an eBook reader as well as my computer on the go, it makes sense to me that it should have the look and feel of what a book might be like. While screen protectors are great for covering up the front of your iPad, I do very much think that something that is so gorgeous to look at, should not have a piece of plastic on it, but a complete cover that can be opened and closed at will.

I absolutely love the executive style iPad leather cases, there's nothing that adds class to the iPad more than that. But I like them for another reason too. They wholly cover the iPad. Naturally the back of the ipad is covered, but the front of the case flip open to reveal the screen, and fold back to the back of the iPad, adding a bit more stuff to hold on to when I carry my iPad in one hand. At under $30 it's an easy decision to make and it's not so bad for my bank account either.
