You may have heard about building your list from your web site, but did you know that there are also many off line methods to building your list? Let's look at a few of them.

Adverts: Place your email link on your adverts as well as your web site address. Offer some information or incentive to people to send an email off and join your list. Email is so common now that it should not be too onerous.

Current Customers: Place a card in your product packaging offering a discount on the next sale if they join your list. Tell them that you will keep them in touch with future sales and product releases.

Set Up A Club: Set up a customer club that provides people with information and incentives to keep purchasing from you. You can use a loyalty scheme so that when they receive the 10th email from you it contains a code that provides them with a discount or a small gift.

Set Up A Competition: Ask the competitors to email you in the answers. Tell them that they will also get your very useful ezine as well.

Set Up A Survey: In a similar method to the competition but use a survey instead.

Your Business Cards: Include your sign on email address on your business cards.

Trade Shows: Put a sign up form on your stand and suggest people sign up for your ezine.

Remember - tell the people that they are signing up for your list and that you will treat their details with respect etc. No one likes to be tricked. Lastly make it worth their while to be a member of your list.
