While decision making for some is quite easy, it can be extremely hard for others, especially if they do not have the proper skills required for decision making.

No matter whom you are or what your do, you make many decisions every day. Making the wrong decision can lead to a disastrous outcome. Here are some decision making tips that can help you sharpen up on your decision making skills.

1. Distinguish and acknowledge the situation at hand: Identifying the decision you want to make is your first undertaking. It may not be as easy as first seems. Whether your problem is big or small you need to identify the specific problem in order to start making decisions.

2. Make sure you are in a good state:  When you are in a bad state, chances are you make poor decisions. Make every attempt to be in a good state to make your decisions. Being in a good state allows you to process more information and take others into account, too.

3. Review your information: Once you have gathered all the facts you need to decide what is relevant to the issue. How precise is all the information.

4. Are there alternative: Consider what the outcomes of your decision will be. Check to make sure you've gathered all the facts and your information accurate? Be sure to consider all your alternatives and what the consequences will be from your decision.

5. Right or Wrong: Do not make your decision on who is right or wrong, but what is right and not wrong.

6. Snappy Decisions: Do not rush your decision making. Nothing is worse than rushing to make a decision; the right decision at the wrong time is just as bad as the wrong decision at the right time. So it's best to avoid making snap decisions if at all possible.

  7. The Right Choice: Once you've made your decision you need to put it into action. Don't worry about your decision being 100% full proof. Until you put your decision into motion you will not know the results of your action. Monitor your decision and make the necessary adjustments as you go along if you need to.

Here is a simple guideline you can use to help you when making decisions, it's called OAR.

· O= Objectives that you are seeking.

· A= Alternative choices that are available to you.

· R= Risk that go along with the alternative choices.

Using these decision making tips can help you avoid worry and redirect your energy to the areas you need in order to make the best decisions possible.
