Feeding The Poor.

" Man does not live by bread alone "

We are just beginning to realize the depth of this statement in our lives. We are just beginning to understand what it is that truly sustains our life here on Planet Earth. We eat and eat, yet do not feel full or satisfied, our appetites seems to rage on with a mind of its own.

In this time in the Human arena of unfolding and evolvement we are seeing the truth of ourselves as energy beings and opening our eyes to the reality that we live by the energy we ingest in our spiritual body's more importantly than what we are feeding our physical body. The body is not a food processor, it is an energy processor, feeding from sources we never have thought of. The ability of the body is greater than we are able to think without applying the imagination. As we walk down the street, through the mall, in our home, we are ingesting energy, from the air, from the mouths of others, from the people we live with.

So based on this principle do we arrive in a starving area of the world with positive energy people and just talk and share this knowledge with them ? No, we arrive with food and feed them until they are no longer engulfed in fear of starving to death today, then we teach them this reality over time, until they realize it is real. Prayer is fast food to the Human Being, as is meditation, and all other spiritual arts that cause us to understand the greater self, the self that is one with the rest of our understanding of Being Human. These practices have been feeding us food we need to live here in the material plane of existence. It is the longing we felt that lead us to them, hunger pains from our unseen selves.

Love is the ultimate food source to our deepest hungers. When we fall in love, we are not hungry, we need nothing but the presence of that person, we are full, we are overflowing, everyday is a Thanksgiving holiday to us. Hearing their voice satisfies an undefined hunger, and when they hang up we desire to hear it again, as we do a food that somehow fulfilled hunger we were not even aware of. It fills emptiness we were not aware was empty. Then comes " the honeymoon is over " portion. I have personally always been reluctant to accept this because I do not believe it has to be the path of love between people. There are truly ups and downs to it, as there are ups and downs to our eating habits. The phase where love seems to nosedive is that point when we realize we cannot keep ' feeding ' it to the other person, because it is the others persons responsibility to themselves to feed themselves, to connect to a higher source of this energy and seek nourishment from their Source and not from one another. Being taken for granted in a relationship occurs when a drain is sensed by the light body from the other, it is an avoidance of depletion of ones energy's, and the longer it goes on, the ' needier ' one becomes for that which once fulfilled them so greatly. The result is usually the affair which occurs, seeking food form another, repeating the same behaviors over and over again until one gains the needed wisdom is acquired and applied, or until they starve to death. It is why the old lady on the block was discovered to have a hundred cats living with her, they love he., she feeds them, they feed her.

It is not hard to look into the relationships of Human Beings and see this dependence of energy exchange. To see where some are being filled and others are draining, where fulfillment is abundant, and some are being depleted to their spiritual deaths. Religion has long been the vampire of their congregations, becoming fat on the energies of them, while handing back only enough to keep them hungry, yet never full or filled. They feed the bodies with charities and soup kitchens, and with full understanding of the light body, control them with enough to keep them returning for a filling of hope. Yet, they are not to blame, because one can always seek the Source for themselves, when they release religion from being responsible for the salvation they can only provide to themselves. Is this not what Jesus and all the other Great Masters taught?

Love makes the world go around, and it keeps the Human race alive in every conceivable sense of the idea. It does not take a lot of it to bring a person back from the brink of energy death, as in the ideal of new lovers, a parent and a child, a deep friendship. A smile can be a seven course gourmet meal for a person, a kind word is a banquet to someone that has not heard one in a long while. Acts of kindness can sustain a person for weeks or months, for the essence of it that complete in every measure of it.

Feeding the poor is the duty of us all and a great act of self-preservation. The starving resort to predatory ways of survival, and the more nourished people, the less predatory ones stalking amongst us. Abusers, molesters, criminals, these are the acts of desperation, resulting from a hunger as powerful as those starving in countries the world ignores. Hunger can blind the mind of one wracked in the pain of it, making all seem somehow acceptable in the name of survival of body and soul. Be it a body gone unfed for weeks, or a spirit untouched to the point of self worth being eradicated from the conscious memory.

Predators are most dangerous when hungry, but the Human has a unique way of becoming most dangerous to itself, because the majority of Humans do not have a desire to harm others, so they tend to turn it inward on themselves, engaging in self destructive behaviors. If Human Beings harmed others at the rate they harm themselves, we would have far fewer Human Beings walking the Earth. So many of them live their lives in this pattern of destruction, saving them from themselves is a multibillion dollar global business. They also seem to be very discriminate as to which vices they seek to wage war upon. Drugs, and cigarettes are being outlawed, yet alcohol seems to have immunity from this war, while it remains Humanity's most destructive, yet acceptable behavior of long term harm.

The conscious feeding of a persons energy body, via prayer, meditation, and focused practices that address this need produce miraculous results in the physical body as well, as the body becomes more at ease within its systems, operating with less dis-ease. An interesting side effect is that it also seems to require a lot less food to operate at an even more efficient level of well being. We are a race very adept at sustaining life within toxic environments, both internally and externally. I promote the belief that that the Earths pollution is aided mostly by the energy pollution we emit into the atmosphere, via our emotions. A simple example is the way a person vomiting anger into a room can pollute the emotions of everyone in it. Fear is also an energy that restricts the flow of energy in a room and is felt quickly by others in its atmosphere. Actually fear births all other emotions we call negative.

Feeding the poor requires a simple smile, act of kindness, or a perspective with loved ones of seeing clearly how we are relating to them and they with us. Are we truly giving in the sense of trying to help them become whole as a person, and are they doing the same with you? There is often a fear that accompanies a loved one begins to show signs of independence and individual well being, the same fear that appears when the cupboards are bare, or the refrigerator is empty. Independence is often seen as a sign we are no longer needed, or that we will have to provide for ourselves, being left alone to develop our own well wholeness. Yet in this situation we find we are given an opportunity to do just that, become whole and becoming a healthy part of a relationship that enhances it and the person we are desiring to feel loved and appreciated.

Dropping coins into the cup of a hungry person reinforces their plight, doing it with a smile feeds them truly.
