Yes there are school shoes available for children with foot problems. My daughter has very narrow feet and normal shoes do not fit her, also she has flat feet and needs shoes with a built up arch, I have to go to a specialist shoe shop to buy her shoes. Sometimes I would buy my own shoes on the Internet, but I never buy my children's shoes online. I like to have my children's feet measured each time they get new shoes.

Some children with foot problems require orthopaedic shoes and may have to attend hospital for referrals for their footwear. These types of footwear would have to be bought from specialist suppliers. However many children have minor foot problems than can be solved by wearing suitable shoes, perhaps that have special insoles, may be wider or narrower fitting. It is possible to find school shoes for children with minor foot problems in good quality shoe shops. Good quality shoe shops may provide in-depth fitting expertise that enables children to get a really good fitting shoe.

Most quality shoe shops have trained staff that are able to measure children's feet, the measuring usually gives a measure of foot width as well as length. It is essential that children's shoes fit properly as the bones are still growing and could be squashed out of shape if the school shoes are badly fitted.
