Saved by God!

We are not saved by our righteousness, nor are we sent to hell for eternity for our sins and misgivings. I know how that riles the antagonism of the law-abiding and especially the fundamentalists. But Galatians 2:16 reminds us that no one is saved by the LAW. I'm not saved by an profession of faith in Jesus. There's no formula that saves me or you. It's not even MY LOVE for God that saves me.

Simply put, it is GOD'S LOVE that saves us ALL!

I know that I love God and my love has been growing for decades; however, mine is a human love and that's one of the reasons that Jesus asked Peter three times in a row "Do you LOVE me"? God's love requires an entirely different word because it goes way beyond our comprehension. The Greek word for God's love that comes the closest is "agape". Accepting that love is true freedom!

Paul gives the agape love his best shot at describing in I Corinthians 13.

The bottom line is that God's LOVE NEVER FAILS! I know that runs against the grain of the hell fire and damnation preaching. It goes against the grain of works, meritocracy, and rule-keeping. I think Jeremiah says it best in the 31st chapter (verse 3), "God has loved us with an everlasting love". How long? How long? God has the FINAL WORD, the last say. He is God you know and in spite of whatever man-made teaching you've been brought up on it's time to go from the milk to the meat!

I didn't one day decide to choose God, get saved, and all that thinking.

God chose me (John 15:16), created me, and one day will completely and utterly restore and redeem me that I might spend eternity with Him. God is LOVE and I am saved (what a difficult word to religiously deal with) from the moment He created me (before the foundations of the world). I am Spirit! I AM! And I am trying to learn how to be a human being in this short span of time I have in this material realm before I and all of us, like Jesus, dematerialize and go back from whence we came.

God's grace is more than sufficient!
