Gone are the days when a camera was considered useless without a film role. Nowadays there is no use of film in the digital cameras. Instead of the film, the memory card is being used. The memory card is also known as media card or storage card. This makes Digital Cameras very unique. One need not buy the memory card repeatedly like what used to be done with reference to the film. There can be repeated use of a single memory card. One has to just snap the pictures and then transfer the image data on to a computer. The memory card can be made empty by deleting the data that is useless and made to use again. The durability of memory card is more than that of films. The memory card is not damaged by the air port X ray machines like what happens to the films. The memory cards that are available in the market are of 8 different types. One should always check the memory card that is compatible with your cameral or is being used in it. One can check the type of the memory card by examining the documentation of the camera. You can start with a memory card that is having small memory. Later you can purchase one with a higher storage capacity. The capacity of the memory card to hold the number of photos depends on 1 the capacity of the memory card, 2 the resolution of the camera in terms of megapixels and 3 the quality settings If the resolution is more, the units of megapixels are also more. The storage of this sort of image requires more space in the memory card. The more the resolution of the camera the more is the space required on the memory card. Sometimes you may need to buy an extra special memory card if you memory card runs short of memory. When you are storing images in the camera some of the key issues to be taken into consideration are as follows: 1 While the data on the memory card is being read or written through the camera or computer never remove the card. 2 The batteries of the camera should always be charged. 3 Always check the battery power indictor before clicking the photo. 4 If you take the picture when the battery is running short of power, the images on the memory card can get corrupted. 5 Never delete photos directly from the memory card because this can corrupt the card. 6 It is always better to transfer the picture to the computer and then delete the photos that are not required.
