Sittercity Review: How Sittercity Can Save Date Night

Before sites like Sittercity, this was our routine. We would search and search for a babysitter. She would watch our kids for a while and then for whatever reason…she could no longer be available to babysit. Then we started the process over.

You hear all the time that it is important for couples to have a date night every week or so, but our problem has always been finding a good babysitter.

Some people have the luxury of grandparents who lovingly watch their kids. We didn't have that…and you can only bug your friends to watch your kids so many times before you have to feel that you are taking advantage. In addition, the teenagers in our neighborhood fall into two categories. They are either too busy with all of their activities, or I wouldn't trust them in my house…much less with my kids.

Fortunately, the internet has made this process a whole lot easier. With matchmaking services, like Sittercity, you no longer have to call all over town begging friends to share the name of their sitter with you or spend time praying that a relative will help you out. They provide accessibility to talented, caring sitters and nannies. All Sittercity sitters are over the age of 17, located nationwide, and are often skilled in areas like pre-med, early childhood education, CPR, and first aid. They even offer background checks on all consenting sitters.

Now, my husband and I don't have to work our date night around a teenager's whims or the sympathy of kind friends. We have a whole list of great babysitting options.

Thanks to matchmaking sites like Sittercity, for less than $100, anyone get her a year's membership and save their date night, too.
