If you are a fan of bad ‘80s movies or if you hate them, you will find something to love with Xanadu tickets. The play is a tongue-in-cheek adaptation of the 1980s film of the same name starring Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelley that was a complete flop.

Book writer Douglas Carter Beane turned almost-30-year-old lemons into lemonade with Xanadu. It turns out, the movie was so bad it is funny. Ridiculous getups from the decade that brought us legwarmers, cutoffs and scrunchies now can be laughed at in retrospect and captured beautifully on stage. The unexpected success of this show has made Xanadu tickets a hot commodity around Broadway.

A Greek muse, Kira, comes down from Mt. Olympus to help a hapless artist, Sonny, who lives in Venice Beach. She helps him produce an artistic masterpiece, the first roller disco. Kira creates problems when she falls in love with Sonny and the plot thickens when her jealous sisters find out. All the while the cast is singing, dancing and skating their way through the colorful musical.

While the movie tanked, the music from the film was a Billboard success. A few of the hits include "Magic," "I'm Alive" and the title track "Xanadu." The music and lyrics for the production were written by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar. Lynne has worked with great artists from George Harrison to Roy Orbison. Farrar wrote and/or produced many of Olivia Newton-John songs like "I Honestly Love You," "You're the One That I Want" and "A Little More Love."

Kerry Butler plays the role of Kira and has been in many famous productions like Little Shop of Horrors, Hairspray and The Opposite Sex. Cheyenne Jackson plays Sonny and was in the Broadway productions of All Shook Up, Aida and Thoroughly Modern Millie. He has also been in films like United 93. Tony Roberts plays both Danny and Zeus. Rovers has been in The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, The Sisters Rosenweig, They're Playing Our Song and more on Broadway along with films like Play it Again, Sam. Jackie Hoffman and Mary Testa play Kira's sisters Melpomene and Calliope along with Medusa and Aphrodite.

This musical has been drawing in audiences and praises from critics. Get your Xanadu tickets and see what all of the commotion is about. All you have to bring with you is an affinity for everything ‘80s, great music and hilarious shows.
