Have Hoover Vacuum Cleaners Lost The Plot

Once-upon-a-time, Hoover so dominated the market that the name Hoover was synonymous with the vacuum cleaner. But over the last few years Hoover vacuum cleaners have been challenged and brought under scrutiny by other vacuum cleaner companies. Does the Hoover vacuum cleaner still deliver on cleaning power and value for money?

Hoover has seen its market dominance diminish over the last few years. There's no denying that the company was satisfied with the status quo of the vacuum market. While other vacuum manufacturers - most notably Dyson - went about rethinking how a vacuum should be made, Hoover was quite happy to be making and selling the same products it had for the last 40 years. The new technically advanced vacuum cleaners made by these companies caught Hoover off guard. This negative mentality was best shown with the remark made by Hoover's Vice President for Europe, Mike Rutter, when he said on UK national TV: "I do regret that Hoover as a company did not take the product technology off Dyson; it would have lain on the shelf and not been used".

Belated Hoover woke up to what was happening around them. Eventually they shook off their old way of thinking and began to look at their product range. The result has been a complete overhaul of the vacuum cleaners.

Hoover has introduced the Hoover self-propelled WindTunnel vacuum cleaner. Hoover claim that it picks up 56% more dirt off the carpet than does a Dyson. There's no denying that the WindTunnel is a top rated vacuum cleaner. First off, it's self-propelled, making it easy to use. It also comes with a HEPA filter as standard, as does the pet hair cleaning tool. Like a Dyson vacuum cleaner, the Hoover WindTunnel is bagless. Little touches also add to the Hoover WindTunnel's cleaning power, such as edge groomers and brush roll stop. The Hoover WindTunnel is one of the most highly rated top end vacuum cleaners.

Hoover's strength lies with its product range. It makes more types of vacuum cleaners than most other manufacturers. As well as its latest innovations such as the WindTunnel upright vacuum cleaner, Hoover also makes some of the best, most technically advanced canister vacuum cleaners. The FloorMate vacuum cleaner is specifically made for hardwood floor. If you want a central vacuum system you won't be surprised to find out that Hoover also make one of the best systems available.

For carpet cleaning, the Hoover SteamVac remains the best domestic steam vacuum on the market today. The Hoover SteamVac uses water, shampoo, heat and incredible suction power to deep clean any carpet, leaving it dry to the touch. The Hoover SteamVac is an outstanding product and is fantastic value.

It is true that for many years Hoover took consumers for granted; but no more. Hoover woke up to the fact that other, newer manufacturers, were leap-frogging them on technology, performance and design. Today, Hoover may have lost its market dominance but it hasn't lost its ability to make some of the best rated vacuum cleaners that the consumer can buy.
