What is a Joint venture? Simply put, it's a type of partnership. You look for marketers whose business is in your chosen niche, e.g. "Dog training" who has an email list of subscribers, many of whom may be interested in your product.

This sort of deal can be the lifeblood of your business. Half a dozen good joint venture partners, promoting your product to their email list in exchange for commission can blast your sales through the roof!

Stop! Don't rush into this and make the usual beginners mistake. You've just written your ebook, and already you're contacting dozens of potential JV partners. Wrong! When you contact potential partners you need to give them figures for your sites conversion rates.

What a conversion rate? It's simply the difference between the amount of people who visit your site and the amount of people who actually visit and buy your product. For example. If you get one hundred visitors, and three people buy, then your conversion is three percent. You should wait until you've had at least one thousand visitors before you get your conversion rate. Put a visit counter on your web site so you can work out your conversion. There are free ones available to download, such as, webstat.net or statcounter.com.

Now you can see how you site is performing. If sales are low or no one's buying, work on your sales letter, or whatever else you need to do to boost sales. When you get good conversion figures, then you can contact JV partners.

Offer large commissions to potential JV partners. If you usually pay your affiliates a fifty percent commission, then offer your JV partners seventy percent. Did that shock you? Seventy percent? That only leaves you twenty five percent. But these people are going to send you lots of visitors. That means loads more sales. A little profit on many sales is better than all the profit on no sales.

Loads of visitor's means you can build your email list and offer other products via email promotions. Also remember, your real wealth can come from the back end products you sell to your list.

Reciprocate! In other words return the favour. Tell your JV partners that you will put their affiliate link in your back end, to market their site. Tell them that you will be doing joint ventures with other marketers in your niche, so they will get even more visitors to their site for free.

Relevance. Obviously if your ebook is on the subject of "wedding planning". Then you won't contact marketers in dog training niches. Contact those people with products aimed at your niche market. Then you'll know their list is full of people with an interest in what you're selling.

How will you find these marketers? Go to clickbank.com and on the home page click on "promote products" then click on "market place" and search for marketers in your niche. Contact them and see if they're interested in joint ventures.

Here's a neat trick, this will find marketers with ready made lists that they can send an email promotion to and sell loads of copies of your ebook to almost overnight.

Go to Google and type in "wedding planning ezine" or whatever niche your product is aimed at. Now you should see a list of results showing web sites in which people have wedding planning email newsletters (or ezines). Now spend some time combing through the results and you should find more JV contacts than you'll ever need.

Here's an amazing trick, web sites with your niche keyword in their domain name would make great potential JV partners. Go to Google and type in "allintitle:(niche)" for example if your ebook was on Fly fishing you would type in allintitle:fly fishing look through the results and contact likely JV partners.

When you've set up one successful joint venture, you can use this as leverage to set up new ones with different partners. You can prove you know what you're doing by saying to potential new partners "Mr Smith from flyfishingrus.com made $xxx from one mailing to his list." A real example of a good result is a very powerful persuader.

Now you know how to do it. What are you waiting for?
