God Bless America

During my recent visit to United States of America in 2008, I could listen and watch live TV many electrifying speeches delivered in National Conventions of the Democrats and Republicans.
At the end of every speech by the top American politicians, I used to hear "God bless America."
In general, some of our friends and relatives too greet us saying "God bless you."
Every one of us is familiar with this phrase, but we used to pay less attention to it.
If we think seriously, this phrase has a deep inner meaning.
I spent sometime on this fantastic phrase on a fine rainy morning over a cup of hot coffee.
In fact, those who wish are not taking the responsibility of blessing, but give the responsibility to the Almighty God who is beyond our imagination.
So the blessing is from the unknown God.
Every religion is in search of God and so the scientific community.
If we say God, it does not refer to a religion or sect.
God is common to all.
When they say God bless America, I feel happy because they do not refer a particular religion although in their mind God is represented by a particular religion.
God does not have form as we think always.
God is unknown or beyond our imagination, then how God will have a form?
But realizing this fact, man tried to give a form and introduced the idol worship.
In every religion, the organizers understood the difficulty of imagining the unknown and pray and meditate.
Therefore, they made idols of all kinds and trained people to believe on these idols in order to think of God.
Thus the mind will be on a particular object and people offer whatever is dear to them and pray whenever they are in trouble.
In Christianity, there are many divisions like Catholics, Protestants, and Pentecost.
Each division is talking about Christ who under went the sufferings and ultimately the crucification in a cross.
But different divisions follow different methods to worship and many times clash with each other causing considerable hardships to the public.
In other religions too there are divisions created by man, not by God because God is the ultimate for all.
Since man does not have that much of power as God, he looks for someone who is more powerful than him and worships Him as God.
Those heroes who have capacity to tolerate injustice, to serve people, to lead people in a just path, preach and motivate the people in distress are also equated to God and pray.
Lord Buddha, Jesus Christ, Sathya Sai Baba, Allah, Guru Govinda Singh, Guru Nanak and many more are examples we all know.
On the other hand in Hinduism, mythological stories close to social life were written and heroes of those stories are idolized and people believe them and pray as God.
I do not know how many idols with different beautiful names are housed as Gods in millions of Temples for praying.
People want peace of mind for which they go to temples and pray and meditate.
They offer money, food, flowers and many other things for pooja which is performed by someone who knows the significance and importance of these God embedded idols.
Someone said God is everywhere and God is duty.
Mahatma Gandhi said God is Truth.
Mother Teresa was a believer of God and her service to the unfortunate children who suffered because of poverty in the slums of Kolkatta was considered as the service to God.
She sacrificed her whole life for these children giving love and affection which were not given by those who gave birth to those kids.
"God is Love" she said.
So God is one of the unique word for all human beings irrespective their faith on various religions.
The magic word of God is unifying different faiths and religions.
God is powerful as any idol we believe and pray in our life.
Commercialization of God in the name of religion with money and muscle power is going on all over the world.
Religions create unpleasantness among people dividing them into petty groups lead by preachers who brain wash these groups for making their religion more popular and bigger than others.
Conversion of one religious people to another is another way of popularizing the religion.
It creates disturbances in a society.
All religions like all political parties are interested in the happiness and health of people who are either poor or rich.
So is the wish of God, the unknown.
Events take place every day and night in everybody's life.
Why it happens?
Why it should happen to me?
Why not to others?
These are some stupid questions jump out of our mind.
There is no straight answer for these selfish questions.
They are beyond our imaginations; however people try to attribute some blind reasons.
Some feel that the deity they worship may be responsible for it and some others feel that it's as a result of the good or bad actions of their ancestors.
Nowadays scientific evidences are emerging to prove these beliefs.
It is all God's action; man of today has more knowledge and intelligence.
What is going to happen in future?
It is in the hands of the Almighty God.
Let God less not only America but also all of us.
