The electric bike is really a marvelous thing of modern technology. It lets you exercise, it lets you set your own pace, and it has an eco-friendly battery to help you do it all with. There are a lot of types of e-bikes out there, and quite a few different types of batteries to go with them. Not all of them even being as eco-friendly or eco-friendly at all. Here at Pedego Electric Bikes we offer the premiere battery type for electronic bicycles - lithium-ion manganese batteries. The green, good for the environment reality of these battery packs aren't the only perk to having one either. They are also some of the strongest and most efficient batteries out there.
So now that you have, or are considering an electric bike, you have to ask - what is the trick to a charging electric bike battery - or - how long do electric bikes last? Well, we promise that we can answer both of those questions for you, and hopefully the answers will not only put you in awe, but also lend support to our belief that these are the best batteries to use.
First off, there are a couple details about a charging electric bike battery that should be known. A lithium-ion manganese battery can be fully charged and fully discharged about 500 to 1000 times! This is much, much more than their standard competitor, the lead acid battery pack. Lead acid batteries can usually only take about 100 full charges. This means that our standard e-bike battery pack can go for at least five times more than your standard lead acid one, and maybe even as many as ten times more! Let's not forget what lithium-ion battery mileage then translates too. 500-1000 full charges means you will get roughly 10,000 to 20,000 miles with the average full battery life usage. Of course this is affected by the rider's weight, exercise level, and the standard environmental conditions like wind resistance, road conditions, and whether you are going up or down hill.
Now that you have the big picture, there is plenty of reason to look at the day to day break down of these spectacular battery packs. A typical charge will get you about 15-30 miles per charge (once again depending on the rider's weight, exercise level, and terrain). Not too bad for a day to day output, right? If this hasn't impressed you enough, we also can't forget to mention that these battery packs will go from completely discharged to full charged in about 4 hours with just a simple wall outlet. Not only is it simple, easy, and fast to charge these batteries, it still doesn't even hinder you from riding if you'd like. The battery packs are typically detachable, meaning that even while your battery is charging, you have a great bike to take a cruise on if you like.
We hope this information has been helpful and please don't forget to check out PedegoElectricBikes.com for the latest in eco-friendly, fashionable, e-bikes. If you start browsing now, it is very likely you will be buying one soon.
