The qualification that you will require as the holiday rep would largely depend on what type of position you are looking for. Therefore it means that if you are looking for the position of children's rep then it would basically require specific qualifications as the rep. most of the reps would however require to be at least 18 years old and there are also a few positions that require you to be of 21 years old. The formal qualification is generally not required for this position as the holiday rep.

However if you have some good GCSE grades, or A Level grades or even any other qualification in tourism and travel they would help you with great chances to become a holiday rep. Apart from this if you have any customer service experience can also mean a valuable asset to have as it would help in demonstrating the key skills for the recruitment team that you are looking for. This experience can be easily gained as you prefer for a part time job while you are studying or can also be through the full time job which you can do on a daily basis. There is also not specific requirement that you should speak a different language, but this can help you a lot if you make sure to mention them.

The key responsibilities for a holiday rep

It is important you work in order to ensure that you consistently provide an outstanding level of service as you recognize every customer to be an individual, serving them individually. You should also be the only expert for your customers as you provide them relevant and up to date information about the particular and also surrounding places.

You should also try and get a feedback from your customers after they had been on a company tour. Make sure to deal with all the problems faced by your customers very effectively and also seek guidance from the Resort Team leader or manager if necessary. You should also make sure that customer communication is provided in line with the guidance of the company.

If you can transfer the holiday makers from and to the airport and also getting ready the hotel accommodation along with their healthy and safety options is also very important. You should complete this healthy and safety checks and you should report the concerns to the Resort team management.

You should report back to your team leader if you have any suggested improvement to be made. This can be the key in improving your service towards the customers.

Make sure to ensure if there are any issues that affect the customer satisfaction and get them to the attention of the resort management. It is important you work alongside the suppliers to find out about the customers' holiday. However you should also be responsible for the hotel reservation for your customers and also ensure correct room types with some extra rooms and provide them as booked.

You should also be prepared to conduct welcome meetings or speaking about the tour. You should provide the targeted holiday information and should also ensure that the customers are briefed on the particular excursion.

You as the holiday rep will also have to achieve sales targets from your excursions sales, telephone cards, car hire and other services and products that are introduced by the company. Decide which product you should sell in order to gain maximum sales including customer satisfaction. Gain complete understanding of every service and product that you recommend your customers. You as the holiday rep should also recommend some improvement to the particular company excursion to get a better feedback from your customers.
