How God Can be Expressed

Maimonides considered instead that God may just begin to be expressed through the negative characteristics. This is so for the reason that positive characteristics reproduce some knowledge of the substance's "entirety." Instead, we can just realize that He is, rather than precisely what He is. These negative characteristics demonstrate the highest restrictions of what individuals are able to comprehend of God. Negative traits, such as, being short of distraction points out that God controls all He has created. Consequently, it can be supposed that, every characteristic with which we illustrate Him is either an element of action or has the claim of negating its own nonexistence.
Aquinas in contrast, differed somewhat in how people can apply things to and call them God. He understood that humankind may call God, but this name on no account symbolizes God's nature in the way that we may articulate the nature of a man. This is for the reason that it points out that an individual understands God's underlying essence. As a result, the name God may only be uttered theoretically. Nevertheless, verbs can in fact be relevant to him. Aquinas elucidates this by saying that as God's eternity contains all time, and these verbs are connected with time, some connection can be found.
Aquinas disagreed with Maimonides about the point of negative characteristics and their capability to convey God. As an alternative, names which are applied to God negatively or which indicate His connection with human beings clearly do not in any way indicate His essence, somewhat state the remoteness of the human being from Him, or His connection with something else, or somewhat, the relation of human beings to Himself. Furthermore, this identical hypothesis works to prove why positive characteristics are not steady with God. Such observation as "God is good" may also be related to God's connection with the human beings that He has created. Aquinas disputes with this by stating that when one utters a statement similar to that, they imply God is the cause behind the goodness of that particular unit.
