Have you ever heard a song and you just wanted to share it with everyone you know? If you and your friends had Microsoft Zune digital media players, you could share music, pictures and video effortlessly and wirelessly.

Whether you've got a clip of your friend's garage band or your brother's kids being cute, or something you purchased at the Zune Marketplace (which offers more than three million songs), when you're in close range of another Zune user you can connect to their device and share media.

Your friend can then listen to the song up to three times in three days and then has the option to buy the song himself. You can also share pictures and keep them forever.

Zune is designed to be Microsoft's answer to the iPod, and this ability to share music and see what other Zune users in your immediate area are listening to or watching is a big draw for the device.

This ability to share gives the Zune more of a community aspect, encouraging users to share and talk about the music and video they enjoy. The Microsoft Zune even comes preloaded with a bunch of songs, music videos and other video clips to help expand users' horizons and get them interested in music they might never have heard before.

There's plenty of room for exploration with the Zune, which has a 30 gigabyte hard drive, allowing users to store up to 7,500 songs, 2,500 pictures or 100 hours of video.

Music can be downloaded from the Zune marketplace. Music is available by the song or by the album, and users can either pay with pre-purchased points or sign up for a monthly program that allows a certain number of downloads each month.

In addition to watching videos, listening to music and sharing photos and media with your friends, Zune can also be used as a radio. The three-inch screen is perfect for watching videos, and at 5.6 ounces, the Zune is small and light enough to take with you anywhere.

The Zune can play for up to 14 hours on a single battery charge when playing music, and for about four hours playing video.

The Microsoft Zune hasn't been on the market very long, but it already has many devoted fans. People like the community aspect of the Zune as well as the large storage capability. And you can even buy a Zune to match your personality--they're available in black, white, brown, red and pink.

If you want your digital media experience to be a bit more communal, check out Zune and join the party.
