Whether you're looking to go on an annual family holiday, a romantic weekend getaway or a golfing vacation, Spain is the ideal holiday destination.

This popular European country boasts everything you could wish for - beautiful weather, gorgeous sandy beaches, art and culture, fantastic shopping opportunities, excellent sporting facilities, an exciting nightlife and some delicious food and drink.

If it's a beach holiday that you're after then you will spoilt for choice by the huge number of stunning beaches that Spain has to offer. Among some that you might like to check out are the beaches in Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca, Costa Brava, Costa de la Luz, Costa Almeria, the Canary Islands and Balearic Islands.

However, if lying on a beach all day isn't your idea of a holiday, then there are plenty of other activities that you can get up to during your self-catering holiday in Spain.

There are some definite must-sees in Spain, which you should visit if time allows. For example, there's the Alhambra Palace, Barcelona's Gaudi architecture, Seville's Cathedral and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao - just to name a few!

Spain's cities have lots to offer its visitors. Barcelona, which makes a great destination for a city break, has plenty to see and do. It's worth taking a walk around the city so that you can take in the sights at your own pace. Make sure that you look out for the Gaudi architecture while you are there! And if a full day's sightseeing doesn't wear you out, then you can check out all the nightlife in Barcelona.

Madrid, the capital of Spain, is a fascinating city that you should explore during your stay in Spain. It's the perfect place to visit if you are an art lover, as it is brimming with museums and art. There's the Golden Triangle of Art, which is three museums - the Prado Museum, the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum and the Reina Sofia Museum.

Seville is rich in history and you should check out the amazing cathedral and its bell tower, the Giralda. Seville is also said to be the tapas capital of the world, so try to sample some of its tasty food and drink during your visit.

However, if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of city life, then Spain has an abundance of areas where you really can get away from it all and get back to nature. There's so much countryside to discover. The regions of Cantabria, Galicia, Asturias and the Basque Country in northern Spain are definitely worth a visit.

What is so good about Spain is that it is an excellent holiday destination to take the whole family. There's plenty for children to see and do, whether they are aged 2 or 12. Whatever the little ones are into - theme parks, zoos, museums or water parks - Spain has so much to offer its younger visitors, making it a fun and memorable holiday for kids.

It's no wonder that so many people return to Spain, again and again, to go on holiday.

Whether you are looking for a long or short term rental, you should be able to find your ideal property in Spain.
