A Gift of Nature - Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is extracted from Melaleuca Alternifolia (which grows in Australia). It is known by different names such as Melaleuca oil and Australian tea tree oil. It is obtained through distillation of the leaves.

Tea tree oil is the one of ingredients, which is used in lotions, shampoos, creams and various ointments. Traditionally, it was specifically used for healing purpose, that is, crushed leaves were applied on the burns, injuries or infection. In fact, tea tree oil contains elements called Terpenoids, which is antiseptic and antifungal in nature. In brief, tea tree oil is used to cure following problems such as healing burn, dandruff, antiseptic, yeast infection, acne, boils, and athlete's foot.

While using tea tree oil, the person must take following precautions as to some people, it can be allergic.
•Tea tree oil must be used in diluted form
•It should be used externally; because if taken internally it can adversely affect the immune system or even can cause diarrhea, sleepiness, drowsiness etc.
•If the person experiences drowsiness, vomiting or any other symptom then, he is recommended to seek medical advice.
•Pregnant women's is not suggested to use tea tree oil.
•It should be kept away from children and pets as this can be harmful to them.

Tea tree oil is yellow -green in color. And its chemical contents are Terpinen-4-ol, Cineole, Terpinene, Pinene and Cymene. It is a natural solvent which is easily absorbed by the body and helps in healing burns, acne, ulcers and other skin problems. It is already known that tea tree oil is antifungal in nature, thus, is very helpful in dealing with fungal infections either, it be an athlete foot infection or fungal nail infection that is, it kills the bacteria. It has also been proved that massaging with tea tree oil, helps in dealing and alleviating body pain and fatigue. Tea tree oil is not just good for curing all skin problem and body pains rather it is also very helpful in treating the gum and plaque problem.
In brief, tea tree oil is a complete natural product which is used for many purposes such as:
•hair problems
•body problems
•skin problem
•teeth problems
•provides relief in arthritis


Other than the above uses it is also used in mouth wash, toothpaste, crèmes and many other products. Thus, tea tree oil is a multipurpose natural product, which is absolutely an ecological friendly.
