Today's bathroom's are starting to look more and more modern. The days of using melamine or wood counter tops are in the past. Today people are getting rid of the old style and becoming more familiar with new styles and materials. From regular tempered glass to high end marble counter tops, Bathroom vanities are becoming more and more popular each day.

Seeing as how there are not many things that can be changed in a bathroom, when you do decide to upgrade your vanity it will give your bathroom a completely new and redefined look. The new styles of vanities are not just a counter top and a couple cabinet doors. Today it is all about the style, the sink and even the faucet. Sinks vary from a one piece tempered glass counter top with a sunk in sink, to a ceramic counter top "bowl style" sink that comes in a variety of colors and/or motifs. There is also the new drain plug technology. With the one touch pop up drain, plunging the sink is as easy as pushing a button. Simply push down on the drain and it will plug itself. Push down on the drain again and it pop back up.

There are a good number of accessories that can be added in the bathroom to improve the look as well as giving you some much needed storage space. First off the mirror, more and more people are getting rid of the old style medicine cabinet and replacing it with a large mirror with a stained wood frame that matches the rest of the vanity. Todays mirrors are much more stylish and may even have a built in shelf to help solve the clutter problems most of us have on the vanity counter top.

There is also some very usefully shelving units that can be hung on almost any wall. These shelving units are ideal for the small bathroom type. Should you not have enough floor space, you can easily hang one of these shelving units to help out with storage issues(glass or wood). Should the size of your bathroom permit, the floor shelving units are the way to go. With a variety of styles and looks these units are usually big enough to hold plenty of towels, Kleenex, toilet paper and even your cleaning products. They come in a variety of styles from all glass with glass shelving to all wood with glass shelving and even the frosted glass look.
