Wooden flooring is becoming more and more popular as a covering for floors within homes. Whether it's pure wooden flooring or hard wearing laminate wood-effect flooring, there are many benefits to replacing your carpet with wooden flooring or laminate flooring.

One of the reasons wooden flooring is currently so popular is due to its relatively inexpensive cost. There is such a huge range of styles available that whatever your budget or style, you should be able to find flooring to suit. Whether you want to only spend a couple of pounds per square metre to decorate a small room or are looking for high quality authentic flooring in keeping with the period of a more history-rich room, you will be able to find flooring to suit. Another reason for its popularity is that it is relatively easy to fit. Whereas carpet may require expert installation in order for it to look good, a bit of DIY knowledge can make fitting wooden flooring a lot easier. Cut the length of a carpet too short and it is likely to mean forking out for a whole new one whereas fitting sections of flooring is a lot easier to rectify should you make a mistake.

Other reasons why laminate and wooden flooring is so popular are because it is so easy to clean and requires very little maintenance to keep it looking great. It can be wiped clean if there are spillages onto it so it is ideal if you have small children or a lot of dinner parties. Occasional treatment with a wooden flooring treatment and a mop will ensure that it maintains all of its original nutrients and properties. Should you have a serious accident and damage a flooring panel then having a few spares left over from the original fitting means that you will be able to replace it much easier than if it were a carpet that got damaged.

Still need convincing? What about the fact that wooden flooring does not collect dust or other particles that can cause allergies and makes your room look larger than if it were carpeted. Estate agents claim that it also increases the value of your home and makes properties easier to sell.
