Handy Dandy Household Finds

There is a heated debate about what is the best material used to clean the grout between your tiles. Few insist on trying out the countless advertised chemical solutions available, going through shelves upon shelves of products that give promise of doing most of the dirty work for them. Some experiment with home-remedies, using trial and error to find the best one that works. Within the next paragraphs are some of the substances I've tried and which I've proved to have produced favorable results when dealing with dirty grout.
The simplest way to fight off grout stains between your tiles is an alcohol solution in a spritzer bottle. Buy a spray bottle available in all hardware stores and add in a solution of alcohol. Before spraying, make sure the area is dry. Then spray the mixture onto the tiles. A much stronger solution may be needed to clean off the worst dirty grout cases.
Another household solution to cleaning grout with a satisfactory result is baking soda. This is requires a bit more effort on your part, as it is more tedious, but will work pretty quick. Dampen the area to be cleaned, then sprinkle a bit of baking soda over it. Leave it alone for a few minutes. Then using an old toothbrush, scrub off the baking soda. This method requires a little more work, but the grout will be clean.
Bleach is also a good cleaning agent if your bathroom grout is not dyed. If you do the laundry, too, then chances are you're aware that bleach has a tendency to remove color as well as dirt. When using this method, mix equal parts of water and bleach, and spray it onto the bathroom every night after everyone is done using it. It will begin to show results after one or two weeks of doing this, and after such time, you can lessen it to about once a week.
