Do You Love What You Do

I just had a thought today, while I was working like a mad man and I thought I might share it with you guys and gals. It may be highly valuable or it might not.

I was sitting here wondering, do I genuinely love what I do for living. Just for reference I am a online publisher. I publish information online and market it to people who seek it.

Sounds simple enough, right?

Well I don't really like the publishing part but it is what helps me achieve my financial goals.

In my business there are two very important things.

1- Competition is a good thing, and there's lots of it

2- The most important thing you need to be passionate about in order to make money is sales and marketing.

The point I'm trying to make here is that you do not need to be passionate about your product or the industry you're in, in order to make money.

Sometimes I don't entirely agree with that, but as business owners, our #1 focus needs to be on becoming good marketers.

If you love marketing and you know how to apply it to anything, you will always be able to make money.

Whereas if you put all your focus on one product and you attach yourself to that product, you're actually seriously jeopardizing your ability to survive in the long-run.

You need to view your products or home business opportunities as just another product you are capable of marketing.

I also mentioned competition early. You should not be afraid of a lot of competition. It is better to get into highly competitive industries.


Because a lot of competition means there's a lot of money to be made in that industry. If you find a niche or industry where theres not a lot of competition, it usually means it's not worth anyone's time to try to build a business there.

If your industry has a lot of competition then the future looks bright for you. Whether it network marketing, internet marketing, or mlm. These are all highly competitive markets. This is good because it means that a lot of money is floating around.

It's not going to be easy though. You must differentiate and stand out from the crowd by promoting yourself, your way of doing business and offering value to your prospects where others are not.

Incidentally, this is what I'm doing in this article. I'm selling myself and my ability to help people by giving away quality information for free.
