America: From Capitalism to Socialism

Everyone is focused on the number $700,000,000,000.00 as what it's going to take to bail America out of its bankruptcy lifestyle. But does anyone think that will change anything? The philosophy is still SPEND! The lifestyle is still to BORROW. And we've done it so long that the only way to keep the house of cards from crumbling is to do away with the capitalistic society we were to the socialistic one we're denying.

Bush told the nation in a televised address Wednesday night that passage of the $700 billion bailout package his administration has proposed is urgently needed to calm the markets and restore confidence in the reeling financial system. And his top spokeswoman, Dana Perino, said Thursday she thought "significant progress" was being made.

Ben Bernanke's $700 Billion bailout is only the opening ante!

Does anyone remember that we (the people of America- led by the nose by the politicians WE elected) just loaned $85 BILLION to bail out AIG? Are you aware that Congress just voted $50 BILLION over two years to save the automobile industry?  It's said that we'll need $150 BILLION to shore up the FDIC. And Congress is being asked for $500 BILLION for our 2009 federal budget. And let's not forget that elected politicians are in Washington asking for $50 BILLION to fix problems from hurricane Ike.

Need I go on?

America is bankrupt and all we're doing is putting off the filing until a later date. When that happens I don't know, but it will be sooner than later. The only way to make it later is to PRETEND that we're a capitalistic society, while operating as a socialistic one. And I've not even begun to go into the TRILLIONS we're talking about spending for national health care. And how is not allowing investor to "short" financial stocks free market policy?

It's not, because we're not- any longer!  :-(
